DLUX 2.2 AND 1.9 wheels Check my website for pricing,... wheels start at $58 plus shipping (pair) for both the 2.2 and 1.9 wheels. Key benefits: •Lightest “performance” bead lock wheel on the market at 1.4oz for a .7 wide wheel with all hardware. If you’re really looking for weight savings, you could use aluminum screws and save a bit more weight. •Wheel width is adjustable in 1/8" increments by simply using different width spacers (sold separately). You can get your wheel width anywhere from .5 wide to 2.3” wide, without having to buy new wheels, EVER. •No wheel gives more room for knuckle weight since the face is all the way to the front of the wheel. •Solid front wheel face proves to be the dominant design for sliding past obstacles instead of getting stuck on them. Faces allow the button head hardware to sit recessed so you will not catch your hardware on the rocks. •Wheel design gives the opportunity for ultra narrow track width all the way to reasonably wide. Adjustable hub offset using SLW hubs. •Open inner wheel design gives maximum air flow achieving less tire bounce/hop. This was the biggest unexpected benefit IMO. •The way you mount the tires makes mounting even Boss Claws a sure thing, every time. •Wheels are designed for bolt on Tuning rings sold in many diameters. If you dont see a size you like, PM me. •Wheels are designed for bolt on weight system making them great for a weighted wheel or the lightest wheel, another reason to never have to buy wheels again. •If you were to ever have a problem, each individual piece is replaceable at a very LOW price. No more trashing wheels because of a stripped screw hole, bent spoke, stripped hub etc,. Re: DLUX 2.2 AND 1.9 wheels Instructions on how to mount a tire on DLUX wheels. When assembling the wheel make sure you use all 6 hub bolts. If there is a weak spot of the wheels, this is it. The first thing to take notice of is your screw lengths. If you ordered .530 wide wheels you will have short screws (3/8 long) all the way around. If you ordered .655 wide wheels, you will have short screws (3/8 long) and long screws (1/2 long). If you ordered anything wider than .655 wide wheels they will all be long (1/2). For the .655 wheels, you will need to put the short ones on one side and long on the other. If you try to use long on both they will barely meet in the middle of the spacer and not tighten all the way. Put the short ones in first and the long ones in second to make life easier on you. There are a couple different ways I have assembled a wheel. You will most likely figure out your own way, but here is one way to get you started. Thanks to Dude26 for the pics!!! First, take the bead channel and insert it into the tire. Push the bead of the tire into the channel. Make sure your tires are going in the direction you want them to be. http://i153.photobucket.com/albums/s...l/P1060616.jpg Place the BACK bead ring over the top. http://i153.photobucket.com/albums/s...l/P1060617.jpg Now insert your screw (short screws first if you have them) and from the other side of the tire, hold the spacer with one hand and turn the screw with the other. Go around to all the screw holes and do this step. The back side of the tire will be complete. http://i153.photobucket.com/albums/s...l/P1060618.jpg http://i153.photobucket.com/albums/s...l/P1060620.jpg http://i153.photobucket.com/albums/s...l/P1060621.jpg Now, place the other bead channel in the tire and do the same as the first step. You will need to line up the screw holes in this bead channel with the screw holes on the other side. http://i153.photobucket.com/albums/s...l/P1060623.jpg Place the face on top http://i153.photobucket.com/albums/s...l/P1060624.jpg Insert your screws without tightening them or screwing into the spacers http://i153.photobucket.com/albums/s...l/P1060625.jpg Now push the face down until the screws hit the spacers on the other side. Make sure that everything is all lined up and youre not twisting the sidewall to get them to do so. http://i153.photobucket.com/albums/s...l/P1060626.jpg Tighten your screws and youre done! Pretty easy and almost fool proof. http://i153.photobucket.com/albums/s...l/P1060628.jpg If youre having a hard time getting the screws to tighten because screws on each side turn, you can use an allen wrench on each side or just hold the spacer with some pliers on the middle. http://i153.photobucket.com/albums/s...l/P1060629.jpg |
Re: DLUX 2.2 AND 1.9 wheels Using the DLUX weight system. To use the wheel weights you will need to purchase the DLUX wheel weight system. The system includes: Hub spacers (.260 wide), clear retaining rings and 4-40 x 5/8" retaining screws. You will also need slugs and 4-40 x 1/2" hub screws. I have both in my store if you need them. When using the DLUX slugs, you will need to run at least a 460 DH hub. This is the same as running a 725 SLW spacer. When using VP slugs, you will need to run at least a 585 DH hub. This is the same as running a 850 SLW spacer. You will also need longer retaining screws, 4-40 x 3/4". Here is an overall shot of the parts: http://i180.photobucket.com/albums/x...s/100_3050.jpg First, install the hub screws http://i180.photobucket.com/albums/x...s/100_3051.jpg Place the hub spacer over the hub screws http://i180.photobucket.com/albums/x...s/100_3053.jpg Install the DH hub http://i180.photobucket.com/albums/x...s/100_3054.jpg Install your slugs http://i180.photobucket.com/albums/x...s/100_3055.jpg Install retaining ring. IMPORTANT. THE HUB SPACERS ARE DELICATE FLOWERS. TREAT THEM AS SUCH. YOU WILL ONLY WANT TO TORQUE THE SCREWS ENOUGH THAT THE RETAINING RING BARELY TOUCHES THE SLUGS. YOU COULD ALMOST DO THIS WITH YOUR FINGERS, DO NOT SNUG THESE DOWN. There will be just a tiny bit of movement in the slugs when you get the retaining ring installed. Please keep this in mind when using clear faces as the slugs may scratch them. http://i180.photobucket.com/albums/x...s/100_3056.jpg Now, if you want to run all 6 slugs, you will have to do some modifications. If you want to use a tuning ring, you will need to notch 2 of the slugs so that they will clear the tuning ring mounts and the tuning ring itself. If you do not plan on running tuning rings, just take a dremel and remove the mount itself. If you change your mind, you will still have your rear wheels that you could switch around. Here is a pic of the wheel loaded without the mounts removed. If you look where the other two slugs should go, you will see the mounts. http://i180.photobucket.com/albums/x...s/100_3058.jpg How to change out the width spacers really easily.... First, take out three alternate screws on each side of the wheel. http://i180.photobucket.com/albums/x...s/100_3073.jpg If done correctly, one side of the wheel will hold 3 spacers, one side will hold the other 3. Now you can pull the beads apart without having to re set the beads in the channels again. If you have small enough spacers, you could possibly even change out foams at this point??? http://i180.photobucket.com/albums/x...s/100_3074.jpg Now, one at a time, remove each spacer and replace it with the new one you want to use. Do this for both sides. http://i180.photobucket.com/albums/x...s/100_3075.jpg http://i180.photobucket.com/albums/x...s/100_3076.jpg After youre done replacing the spacers, just push the wheel beads back together, tighten the screws and youre good to go. |
