Default locker problem+fix/ axle breakage

Well, I bought my first RC and I thought I'd share my experience.

I've read that there are a few people having problems with the lockers not wanting to engage, or in my case unlocking itself under power. All I had to do to fix this was pull the locker out and push the 3 pins deeper into the ring

before ( you can see how the pins barely go into the case )

and here you can see how i just pushed them in a bit deeper

And here is a pic of my broken axle

good thing I was reading about the faulty axles on here so I was prepared for it. I would have been extremly peeved otherwise.

Hopefully I can get these replaced by customer service, I heard they're pretty good about it.

I found this kit somewhat difficult to setup, considering all the part numbers for the screws are in the book but none of the bags are labelled. it sucked to match up every piece i needed. also had a bunch of screws that had no threads on them... also I had too many of some parts and not enough of others. for one i got 1 too many bend rod ends and not enough straight ones.

anyways I got 1 hour of fun after labouring to set this bad boy up. I am happy with it though, crawls great and hopefully I'll be back at it again soon!

now i"m dialing the 800 number haha thanks for reading

I've broken a c-hub which is now held together with krazy glue, and an axle pin which I replaced with .078 piano wire. oh and i stripped the gears in my 5645mg.

I did the same thing to my 5645mg on saturday. I was doing a little couch crawling and the rig fell off the back side. It landed on one of the front tires and no more steering. So I ordered replacement gears from the LHS and bought another 5645mg. Now all I need is the new gears for the old servo and I'll be set for rear steer or motorized lockers.

sweet ya luckily i already had some replacement gears on order. I think when i decide its time for a new servo i'll be looking for something beefier(read:more expensive )

I havent had to chance to try it yet as i am still awaiting a replacement gear set for my servo but I am confident that it will work. I have some ideas to tweak it as well.

Nice video editing. They made me laugh. Make some more, I could use another good laugh.

The roll overs are what make it so funny.

I like your battery set up. What size batteries are you using and how many? I'm trying to come up with something other than going to a LiPo system.

Take it in a good way. I was laughing with you, not at you.

umm I'm not good with batteries yet but i took apart some ready made packs and as far as i remember they said 2/3a 1400miah intellect(6 cells per pack). I'm getting about 30mins each from the 2 packs I have, but I dont know how old they are as far as they're condition. I'd like to get some higher miah ones but i think you have to buy the bigger cells?

Its been raining a few times out and It really makes for crappy wheelin, I cant wait for better weather cause better traction and better wheelin should make for a pretty good vid.

Hope that snow melts quick for ya!

I also made my own battery packs and used 1500 miAh Elite 2/3a cells. Difference is I used 7 cells and like the extra wheel speed from the extra power.
