|  The washer mod...
alright. the washer mod... I didnt use washers, because its about 11 at night here and the hard ware store is to far to go in the dark on a bike... i used some wire I found and bent it into a circle till I could sandwich the bearing and the red locker. After that, your done! easy as that! Perminently locked diff... Ask if you need help.  this makes the red thing unable to slide, so its locked and cant go any where. Good luck! I though I would post this up because I searched here and google and came up with nothing, then though about it and its quite simple. heres a pic (black thing between red thing and bearing is the "washer"):  |

I used a thin shock spring preload spacer/clip from some Associated units I had laying around. Same procedure on the install |

Hey thats a good idea. Whatever works. I did what I think most are doing. Used a Slash body washer. Just trim it till it fits.   |

nice! I was going to use a 1/8 washer, but when I drilled it out it broke in half :(.... this works fine, hopefully I dont need to do it to the front, but only time will tell.

i was going to do that mod.when i got it apart found the three holes in the carrier were oblong and a chipped tooth on the spider gears.so i JB welded it together,intel i get the new aluminum carriers and spider gears.

I have JB welded gears too. works fine, this is easy and you dont have to wait for it to dry.

I did this with metal washers and ground them to the perfect inside and outside diamter. Fixed the problem for a few minutes of driving then the red rings pins one got sheered off and the other got loose then ended up sliding back and barely not engaging and ended up grinding the tip down at an angle. the last pin ended up just getting cut in half... EPIC fail for me... so I just ended up squirting JB weld inside the diff case. Great since. But this mod works but hopefully everyone else has better luck. :( |

Has anyone else just backed out the screw just to the left of the lock slide mechanism on the outside of the axle assembly to keep the slide locked in place?? I have 2 venoms with neither having the remote set up yet but both have the screws backed out a tad bit to keep the axles locked and to prevent backing back off. I know its a temp solution to the slider backing off but I havent had a single issue yet with either trucks locked diff not working or breaking.
