| Traxxas big bores on the creeper???
Hey guys, I have 4 traxxas big bores sitting in a bag on my bench begging for a new home... They have a set of red traxxas springs (the softer ones) but I also have red harder ones.... ANYWAYS... How do you install these as you can get a ball cup into the top of the shock cap??? I searched but cant find anything. The creeper caps dont fit on the traxxas's. I really like the bog bores too, I run them in my t-maxx. Any one have any input??? Thanks!

I too would be interested in such as solution. Typically what I do is mount the shock cap onto a joint which has a pivot which is orthogonal to shock mount hole, thus the two axis of rotation (degrees of freedom) give me the proper rotation [effectively equivalent to a ball joint]. For example, take a look at the Hustler pics: Post your Hustler pics here They just use an "R" cable clamp, to achieve this [Radio Shack or your local hardware store]. http://www.wiringproducts.com/contents/en-us/d395.html This one shows it the best: http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/attac...1&d=1176953492 Last edited by CoolRC; 08-16-2009 at 09:50 AM. |

hm..... Thats a good idea, but I want them mounted in the stock position... ill look around for different caps that already have them, or maybe email traxxas and see what they say.

| my apologies in no way did i answer your question, merely suggested a mounting option. what i meant was to mount your shock in the stock lower link location and move the lower link to the inside of its original position with a spacer in between the lower link and the inside of the stock mounting position. i'll post a pic if that's not a clear enough explanation.

I think what you guys are looking for is in this build up guide from the Reign RC guys, pages 10-12 specifically: http://www.reignrc.com/reignrc/downl...ldDocument.pdf Basicly they cut the top off the shock cap, grind it down smooth and then drill a 3mm hole in the cap to mount a traxxas Revo linkend/ball mount to the shock cap....I think I explained it right. Check the pictures on pages 10-12. Last edited by DeaDShorT; 08-22-2009 at 07:04 PM. |

| just a mounting option
here are a few of those pics madmax again, this doesn't answer your question regarding the big bores, sorry i can't take any credit for this setup. got it from ckrc, part of their stage 2 kit. lower link setup, from left to right: locking nut, lower link, spacer (6mm recomended), shock end. a pic of the rear setup. same as the front. links are turned sideways for more clearence. no rubbing or binding between links and shocks. got that one from 1/4elliptic. good source for info on the creeper. front and rear flex now i need to trim the body a bit to eliminate tire rub or just buy the new pro-line crowd pleazer Last edited by redking; 08-22-2009 at 11:11 PM. |

All that information has to go somewhere! This mod really frees up the shocks and makes the articulation really smooth, was just the ticket on the TLT builds back a couple years ago. I'm thinking my little guys will be getting Creepers for Christmas, maybe sooner. So hurry up and find some tricks and tips out for these trucks!!! |

| SWEEEEET! Thanks dude! Maybe ill just order a set of plastic traxxas shocks, the metal heads on the big bores would be a PITA to cut and drill. Thanks for that time 100000! |

Or you could always buy some solid delrin rod. And machine/make your own shock mounts. I did this for my creeper and mounted some savage shocks on...the articulation is awesome.I gained about 1/4" more flex on each corner
