| revamped creeper wheels
quick mod for you guys too enjoy and try i just got tired of lookin at the stock lookin rim i said its time for a change and very cheap too do... (first step) disasemble wheels from your creeper. (Second step) scuff your rim so piant can grab...i used a soft wire wheel in my dremel. (third step) i chose pactra white lexan paint, dries fast and i also wanted the rims to stand out.. see pics below.......................... (forth step) i now gathered all my parts to striped of the factory red with an easyoff bath I now placed all parts in a tinfoil pan and soaked them with easy off as you can see it only takes seconds for color to start to run off i left in from about 5 to 10 minutes and when all the red was gone i washed with soap and water. Gave all the parts a quick polish and here you have your new lookin wheels (all done in an hour) thanks for lookin Last edited by snapz; 01-16-2010 at 05:29 AM. |

So it really does only take a few mins to de-anodize? Looking online people were talking about leaving it for hours or over night etc. I want to strip the green off mine and then dye them blue to change it up a bit.

| If you use easy off it only takes a few minutes. I prefer to use greased lighting it takes a longer but its not as caustic as easy off.

I like that. I'm going to give it a go. Maybe get some 90's neon lime green and purple w/ some pink pin striping going!

| I grabbed some shaws brand easy off and did it last night. Worked good except for the jagged edges on the outside of the bead locks. I let it soak 3 times and the corners still have green in them. I'm gonna try helping it with a q-tip later. The rest of it came right off in minutes.
