Tekin 55t, 45t, 35t?

I am currently running the tekin fx-r/ 55t setup. What is the performance difference between the 55, 45, 35? I am running nimh and would like to stay that way for now. Thanks for your replies!

I've never run anything other than my 45t so I can't really say what the difference is, but I can stall the 45t with my 6 cell NiMH. Speed wise is just faster than normal walking speed. Its fast enough to pull out of near roll situations (with my reaction time), which is what I was going for I guess. I think a 55t would be too slow for my liking, and I don't think I could pull 35t with NiMH. Just my opinion, like I said I've only run the 45t.

I can push around furniture with a 55T on 3s with a 12t pinion.

I also havent ran anything in my crawler besides a 45T but I got this information...although it may not be 100% accurate depending on which motor I would take a shot and say its close. You have to know the number of cells (voltage) will impact wheel speed and torque as well...

from Holmes hobbies page...
Motor speeds (taken from random and averaged sample @ zero timing & 3100rpm):
35t = 1565 rpm/volt
45t = 1210 rpm/volt
55t = 987 rpm/volt
65t = 837 rpm/volt

hope that helps...

so i guess a 2600kv brushless would be a little much ??? the novak goat brushless is a 2700 kv motor..

I am running a Tekin 35T with a Novak Rooster Crawler ESC and its the best choice IMO. Lots of torque and wheel speed. "thumbsup"

6 Cell NIMH 4200mah

You're missing key information. What battery?

I'm sure 35t on 3s lipo would be the bomb, but I'm willing to bet I'd be stalling the motor like crazy on a 6 cell NiMH.

Yeah a Bomb like blowing stuff up. You will be breaking everything with that set up. All of these crawlers were designed to run on NIMH batteries LIPO's are fine if your running a 2s lipo but your asking for trouble with anything higher than 7.4 volts.

I just put in a Tekin 35t, I used to use a 55t Tekin. I haven't had a chance to fully test the 35 yet except for on some concrete stairs. It has WAY more wheel speed than the 55, as far as super slow creeping I think the 55 felt more planted. I do like having the ability to now bump the throttle up over taller flat faced objects. I've not used a 45 but if they are somewhere in between the others I would lean towards that as the 35 might just have too much wheel speed IMO.

I'm running 6-4000mah NiMh cellls. Not sure what it will do with Lipo's.

Thanks for the replies. I was thinking of getting another motor just to play around with and see the difference and wanted to see what everyone else is using and how you like it.

how do the rc4wd & the hpi saturn 35t motors compare to the tekin??
