Cool, cant wait to see your build. Are you planning on selling BTA kits if you can figure one out?

The plan for the BTA is to fab a front axle plate that turns the servo around (horn inward toward the chassis)and move it close to the left front tire,,making room for a lipo n the right side,,from what I have seen Im thinking a high rise drag link and then Ill have to see about the pitman link.

Once I get the Creeper and start really messin around with it ill start posting some build pics and some ideas about some stuff Im thinkin for mine.

Ive been thinkin about the chassis,,and I am really leaning toward the bodiless,,but i really like the RAT ROD's and 34 Ford PU's and I already have a tvp chassis design along those lines....we will see though once the Creeper gets here.

To do BTA all you have to do is turn the servo around and bend a link and call it a day. Its not that hard. I got mine perfect on the first try. Not the best pic, but you should get the just of it.

I was thinkin about it off and on today at work,,,I know I know,,shame on me,,,but I may try to fab the mounts necessary to mate the axles and tranny to one of my GX2 chassis'. I had figured out awhile ago with the GX2's how to eliminate torque twist on a shafty, and axle steer isnt any problem with a GX2 anyway.

I figure I can pull off around 2.5-3 inches of ground clearance which is about normal,,,still run the lipo on the front axle and the esc on the rear...one shock/spring for the front axle and one for the rear.

Ive always thought a "stick" chassis shafty would be cool as hell,,,and there would little to less then normal above axle weight which means more weight tuning in the axles/wheels for weight bias. And besides,,,a bta would be cake with no links in the way.

I met with Ron tonight and he was more than generous,,he passed on a complete Creeper tranny with dig,,,Ill pull it for now...may or may not use it later. Axle internals(complete diffs),,knuckles,,chassis,,C's,,extra main shaft.

One thing I am gonna do is lay the tranny on its side..Ill make a new skid for the stock chassis plates and try that set up first until I can get new chassis parts made.

Default pics,,Take Two

I decided to build it pretty much stock a few exceptions,,

I replaced the upper chassis plate with a couple of aluminum tube standoffs,,the front one is bent to fit around the motor.

Novak Rooster Crawler
2S when I want to just mess around on the rocks/bashing
3S Normally
Integy 55T motor for now
19T pinion
Traxxas metal yokes at the tranny
Traxxas drive shafts
Diffs locked using a cut coil spring
Shocks mounted to chassis plates
Rovers White dot
Custom Dual Disk foams
Eritex Comp Heavy wheels, drilled and mod'ed
No Axle Skids
HR Rear steer lock-outs
DS 8711 hi-torque MG servo,,Modified servo horn
HR C-Hubs
HR Knuckles

Custom BTA
Custom battery/servo plate for the front axle
Custom upper link plate for the rear axle

I drilled a hole into the top of both diff housings and threaded the holes for an M3 grub screw so it is real easy to grease the axles. There arent any locker parts in the axles other than the diff lock and gears.

Til I get my Spektrum radio this weekend I am going old school and throwing the 27mhz radio back in,,it never gave me any trouble,,but I know Im gonna miss my glitch free radio...

Side note about the Creeper too, I am running the rear shocks about 50% stiffer than the front,,the front is pretty soft for approaches and ill see how it does tomorrow after work.

I took the Creeper out for a bit tonight,,and I am really impressed with the overall design of the rig and the almost box stock performance.

I was able to dial almost all of the torque twist out with shock tuning. The 55t is a bit slow so Ill be switching in a 45t. The 2S will be fine for messing around and I will probably comp with the 2S this weekend. Hopefully I can get some action shots of it crawling.

If it crawls in competition as well as it tested out I may very well be switching pro rigs from Bully to Creeper,,but it settles a major question so far thats been bugging me about the comp weight of my Bully rig.
