okay so i finally got a chance to take the creeper out on some rocks (just a bunch of rip rap ) i want to go out to one of the places that we comp at to test further . the creeper deffinately did better than before , but i have a question for any and all who read this i am running an 18 tooth pinion gear on my creeper with a 55 turn integy motor and sidewinder speedcontrol with 11.1v lipo , is this to big of a pinion cause my motor got pretty dang hot in a short time now before i was using a 12 tooth pinion and didn't have this issue any ideas ?

you might try bringing the pinion down to a 16 or 17. Youl still have the wheel speed from the 3s but will cut back the heat development a bit.

Viper,,the real question is,,,how bad were you binding the truck up during the testing,,,binding will create more heat regardless of the pinion,,,and for what its worth,,I run a 19t/55T/3S

thanks guys , yeah i did bind it up more than usual rm so maybe that was it , my main worry is my battery sits right against the side of my motor so i am worried about the heat affecting the battery

No..I meant run your battery back there to see about the heat. The motor may not be getting enough airflow being blocked in by the battery on one side.

okay question has anybody had a problem with aftermarket wheels not fitting on creeper hexes due to the little protrusion in the center of the hex ? do i cut it off or do i attempt drilling the center hole on the wheels bigger ?

well when i was putting the wheels on the creeper one of my factory stub shafts snapped off right at the end of the threads , found out from the guy that i got it from that it was one of the first runs that had the overhardened shafts . so now i have to replace that one unless venom will send me some replacement ones .

well i still had one of the stubs from the front ( replaced with flm stubs ) so i put it on tonight so i could comp this weekend , well i ran into a small problem went to tighten the wheel and " pop " another stub axle broken . and i made sure that i used less pressure on the nut than the last time so i guess it is just the problem of overhardening ( my creeper was one of the early runs that had bad axles ) found out from the guy i bought it from that he had it since the first ones came out . i sent an e-mail off to venom and am waiting to hear back .
