| Creeper Crawler conversion Safari Creeper
I ordered the Body and the chassis for the Safari to convert my Creeper Crawler into a scaler crawler. I got the chassis yester day and it was a snap to install. I really like the bumpers and I am just waiting for the Body to ship. I'll post more pictures when the body comes in. |

I do have the Safari Creeper, and i must tell you at the maximum flex, the tires will touch (badly) the body (very soft by the way). So... 1) either cut from the body, but that will look kind of strange 2) either get smaller wheels (like axial scorpion stock, for example) 3) either try other body that is more "crawling-oriented". |

I am turning this into a scaler and if needed I will just limit the shocks so they dont rub. I also have a spare set of AX10 tires and If I need to I could mount thoses as well. Thanks for the advice. Got any pictures? | |

| Added some Lights while waiting
I added some headlamps and taillights while I am waiting for my body as well as some spare Axial beadlocks I had sitting around. They look a bit more scale. I put the lights in the bumpers as you can tell from the pictures. More pictures when my Body is shipped. Last edited by Grumpster1980; 01-16-2011 at 10:39 PM. |

| Thanks! Thin can be good as long as it's not so thin that is tears.... but thin is lighter and lighter is good in keeping the COG low. I have a chevy body I used to run on this RC that I might remount as a mock up.

Here are some reference shots to show the progression of my Creeper build.... I am using a 2s lipo now as well as 2.4ghz RX/TX, 35T Teken Motor and a Novak Rooster ESC. Fresh out of the box with the stock body on it My first attempt at a scaler body (I still have this body laying around) and some pictures of it a bit more lifted because of body/tire rub. forgive me if this is too newbish, but how are you mounting that truck body? Doesn't look like you're using the posts, but there are pins on the side... Did you fab your own mounts along the side? |
