ok...lets try this again....

ok...so to get some numbers rolling to see where things wind up in the end I got out the scale and found out some interesting things about your rig bro...

My rig ready to run with the battery on board is 99.2oz
Derreks rig Rtr WITH BAT IS 95.1oz
Daltons rig is 121.6oz RTR

break down...

front wheel/tires combined 38.5oz
rear wheel/tires combined 24oz
Chassis set up witout wheels/tires or battery 44oz
6cell stick pack 15oz

unsure of total rtr weight cuz I dont have the body to compare but you cna figure around 2-3oz for that too.

Im getting ready to cut out all the zip ties and remove all of the electronics and strip down the rig for the rebuild....Ill post up some pics later.

i'de say it depends on how your weight is set up, lighter is easier on parts but if it's set up right it can be to your advantage as well.

OK so this week has been a bit weird...havent had a lot of time to work on your rig...but I did take a close look at the set up so I know my starting perameters...

FIrst thing that comes to mind is the shock springs..red are about 2.6 # load rate...way too heavy I my opinion...more to come in a few..

and it begins
9/16" spacers and black oxide button head screws.
The aluminum Axial skid was not a direct bolt on...I ovaled the inward rear chassis plate holes to fit...about 1mm difference and about 15 seconds per plate made it work.

I have to admit..I like the amount of room using the Ax tranny....

Theres only a couple of holes in each chassis plate that cant be used due to interferrence of the trans/motor.

Front lower links ready to be mounted. Im out of 1/4" spacers so this part will have to wait til tomorrow.

I remounted the lowers at the front axle...links in the tabs and the shocks to the inside.

Tomorrow the lower and upper links and shocks will get hooked up. The link location on the rear axle wont change but the lowers will get cut down 1.125" for the XR set up. The XR chassis like all other Vulture chassis' was designed for the Creeper skid so with the Ax skid the chassis is actually 3/16" short in height for comp specs...so a 5/16" custom skid will be mounted under the aluminum Ax skid to regain the legal height. Legal U.S.R.C.C.A. 2011 RULES state that the chassis must be a minimum of 3.75" tall from the top to the lowest point of the chassis...in most cases this lowest point is the skid plate.

More tomorrow......

I dont know about all that...I do like the room yes...but it still has a weight distribution issue having the heavy motor slung on one side like that...I also dont care for the exposed spur gear...but ya know...Im not opposed to change...I think all of you guys will agree with that...We will see how things go...

As Im workin on the rig I find there's a problem with the front axle...and it is probably why you have had problems with crawling. The problem I found is that your C-Hubs are flipped...the c-hub on the left should be on the right and vice versa. I got the front links and shocks mounted to the chassis and was setting the caster angle...as I set it to about 10* like mine I found the pinion was pointing way down and the BTL plate is at a crazy low angle. I looked at it when I saw it wouldnt flex properly and saw the problem with the c-hubs real easy. I didnt notice the issue when I took it apart but Ill pull the c-hubs and swap them around...easy enough.
