I'd start with the stickies at the top of this section. Then go from there.

to get it going you will need.

a speed control(esc) , radio(tx/rx), Motor , Batteries/charger.

If you read around there are quite a few cheap/damn near free mods you can do to it.

i wouls also recomend a good set of allen/hex drivers. it will make life alot easier when you build your rig.
i use these drivers at home and when i comp. http://www.dynamiterc.com/Products/D...ProdID=DYN2904

i use these for when i bash. you wont need to have a tackle box full of tools...
http://www.dynamiterc.com/Products/D...ProdID=DYN2833
also depending on your kit, you may need a .050 driver for the cvd's. then of course you should have a pair of pliers, screw drivers and a file incase your anal like i am and like to make sure all the parts fit and operate smoothly (i do this more on the go-fasts)

You should probably read threads for a least a week straight and you will see that asking questions like you have will get your arse chewed right off by some Individuals

you will also need a servo with a castle creations bec. you can use a bec to get the most power from your servo. i would recomend 200oz or better. the more you spend, the better you get.
the servo i use is this one, http://www.savoxusa.com/Savox_SC1256...avsc1256tg.htm.
this is a bec. you would need to set it to the max voltage that the servo can handle. http://www.castlecreations.com/products/ccbec.html

i dont exactly have a lot of cash at the moment so im going with like minimum to still run. i wont be doing competitions and will prolly just be screwing around in my backyard and my farm with it so im not gonna put anything fancy in it. i will keep it in mind if i plan to upgrade in the future though

i was just looking at the servo that came from the venom site

I bought http://www.valuehobby.com/product_de...21&item_id=117 for mine , I have not used it yet to tell you how well it holds up though.

BUT a buddy of my uses one of These on his viper/bully an it has held up very well considering its price , it is still kicking .

http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...dProduct=16272

also , I would say either purchase a star or get your 30 post/30days in an there are typically good deals in the for sale section ( which you will not be able to see until you do one of the above).

good luck on your build.

read the tips and tricks they are definitely there for a reason.

jb weld the diffs during your build unless you really want to take the axles apart later to fix what you should've done first (experience talking)

I would def lock the pins in the cvd's to keep from breaking parts. But if your just playing in your backyard I would just save your money and play for awhile. figure out what you don't like and fix it. Just my opinion. Oh and JB weld is cheap and will work fine for what your doing.... Hell even works for comping.
