I don't want to be the only one helping you(not that I mind), if I'm wrong on anything I want second opinions. With that said, on my rig, I have 6mm Jeepindoug stand of shock mounts an love them! If that's not an option, do a shock "cap" mod.. cut the standard top off, just the ear part, flush with the top of the shock body. Then drill a hole in the center with a 2.5mm drill bit an tap it with a 3mm tap. Thread in a button head 3mm screw an screw a link end to the top.. shock cap mod makes ur shocks even taller, but then could be mounted upside-down or on any rig.. me, I'm glad I got the Jeepindoug stand off shock mounts.. I liked them so much, I have a 5mm set on my scaler with big bores mounted... |

Good pics, nice crawl spot! It sounds like TT.. torque twist.. take ur body off an send pics of ur links at the axles an at the chassis and a side shot, that shows ur links.. can help from there.. most likely have to spread ur rear upper links at the axles an at the front.. more at the rear tho. With a spacer in between the tabs on both an 6mm link balls or spacers on the outside of ur rear tabs then ur rear links. Yes the Lcc shocks will help as well.. what shock oil wt do you have to run in the Lcc shocks?

| Re: new safari in with broken axle. are there upgraded axles? Ok, cool.. it will do you good.. with white springs on the Lcc? As for ur TT issue. I see a couple things.. start with the upper rear links spaced out 6mm outside ur tabs. I used a piece of threaded link an screws running into it from both sides. I believe its 18mm between the tabs.. Next, out board ur shocks.. get them on the outside of ur links, leaving the links between the tabs.. For the front, move ur upper links on the outside of the tabs, an out board them shocks as well. Ur front link setup looks good from the side. The rear, mmm.. you could use longer upper links, but just a touch.. best way to be able to tell is, take ur front an rear wheels off one side, lay them flat an sit ur trucks axles on them. Like its on blocks. Then we can see what it looks like at ride height. The reason for doing this is to get ur rear drive shaft yoke pointed up in the air. I used a piece of cut off aluminum link I had around. Extra links are the chit.. All the pics of modified steps I took will be at the start of my thread. With urs being a safari, does it have dig? It would help great in the video of you crawling over the big rocks that look like big steps on the way up the hill there.. Last edited by winnerone23; 10-13-2012 at 09:42 PM. | |
