Need help, i broke a cvd shaft Hello guys, I need help i have broke a cvd axle shaft from my venom safari and i need a new one but i can't find one anywere. Can someone help me find one? |
Re: Need help, i broke a cvd shaft I'm in the same boat. Mine's been on the shelf for month's while I've been looking for NOS. I managed to weld the busted CVD into a "straight shaft" for the rear and then put the rear CVD up front. But that only lasted till I busted the same side again... |

Re: Need help, i broke a cvd shaft i dont think mine is a safari but i have a parts venom creeper both complete axles complete shocks transmission chassis green bent links steering links etc and i just sold my personel creeper last weekend. send me a pm and an offer for parts or whole rig whatever. i dont know prices or what worth so dont ask what i want. make offer cash or trade.. i was thinking of throwing a hh crawlmaster 2 servos rx tx tires and wheels and having another venom but....who knows lol |
Re: Need help, i broke a cvd shaft i can't remember exactly which ones they were, but I'm fairly certain I used a set of MIP shafts made for a Traxxas (I'm guessing slash or rustler). Maybe try to get measurements of the 2 and see if they work. |
Re: Need help, i broke a cvd shaft I have installed the mip ones for a AX-10 and they work great on my son's |

Re: Need help, i broke a cvd shaft Its unfortunate that, unlike axial and hpi, that use the same diffs, the creeper does not share parts with anything at all. The only way to get spares These days is to buy a whole creeper for spares. There was a guy called CreeperBob who made titanium shafts to order who i asked about it a year ago, but back then it was cheaper to buy a whole kit and get 4 spare cv's |
Re: Need help, i broke a cvd shaft Yeah, I wish someone would make cvd's for the creeper. Mines gathering dust still, which is a shame because otherwise its been a great truck. Somehow a few individuals have shoehorned axial xr10 c-hubs, knuckles and shafts onto the venom housing. I managed to rather easily fit the c-hubs, but couldn't figure out a proper engagement of shaft inner tang to diff spool. Thought about possibly sticking an axial iron cross mini-spool inside the venom carrier with plenty of JB Weld. If only I hadn't spooled it from the start with JB Weld this theory might be easier to test. I'm curious as to how others made the axial shafts mate to the venom guts? |
Re: Need help, i broke a cvd shaft I just got me some straight titanium axles from Creeperbob. The axles work very well with the Hot Racing rear lockouts. Now I have the original rear CVDs as spares . Maybe this works as well for you. The titanium axles are top notch and fit spot on. Creeperbox is a great guy to deal with. I am highly satisfied. "thumbsup" Crawl on, Stollenritter |
Re: Need help, i broke a cvd shaft Just found a pair of cvds on ebay NIP! Gonna be playing with my creeper for the first time in years. I'm going to clearance the pin slot on the short side with a jeweler's file so it doesnt bind and break like the first two did. |

Congrats on your find, pal! Im running my Creeper from time to time, axles and diff are still going strong (not going to hard on this classic). I love the maneuverability when the diffs are unlocked 8) Have a great time running your Creeper! "thumbsup" |
