Pretty impressive looking course.

Anyone interested in carpooling down 89/91 to go to this event? It's only 3 hours and 175 miles away? We'd have to leave at 7AM to leave plenty of time to arrive on time.

I have an ancient AX-10 I could run in the sportsman class.

I'd be into heading down to check it out. Bring the Losi and see what I can wring out of her

Kudos to the work that must have gone in to building this course.

So "run what ya brung" is a free exhibition style class? My Wraith is set up for crawling and running on that course sure would help fight off the winter blues.

Wish my AX-10 wasn't in pieces with its electronics all stolen for other projects

Meatmonkey if you're going anyway there is a good possibility I'll tag along for the day even if I don't run anything.

I already marked the day on the family calender, so I'm a go. Figure I'll pick Jus up at the park and ride, off exit 8 I think?

Can Motopreserve leave your car in E. Barre for the day? Cause that would be most convenient for me.

If either of you know a good place to eat a breakfast that's along the way I wouldn't be opposed to leaving earlier to comp on a full stomache.

I was going to swap the 10.5 brushless back into the Wraith for snow bashing duty, but seeing as how I have the twin hammers to snow bash, maybe I should just leave it setup for crawling to have another rig for run watcha brung.

I have been looking for a link but I can't seem to find the run what you brung rules.
We are going to run that class with some easy gates at first slowly getting harder as you progress. This class will be for a scaler or wraith type vehicle.
This will mainly be for getting some new people used to running a course with gates and a timer. No real points counted just pointed out as you progress threw the course.the class is mainly in my eyes to introduce crawling and have fun.

Thanks. I did find THIS LINK.

I guess my only remaining question would be clarification on the classes that you run, compared to the terms they use on that rule sheet.

They list the classes as follows:

1. "Super Crawler Class"
2. "2.2 Class"
3. "1.9 Class"
4. "2.2 Shafty Class"

If I read it right, all but the 4th class can be "bodiless" if preferred. Is this correct?

Thanks for your help - and what looks like an amazing course.

Wink Re: OCK Winter Series 2014/2015 round 3

Thx for finding the link .
We will not be running Super class or 1.9 class.
2.2 pro and shafty will be by the rules stated.
Novice shafty will be a little easier gate set up and this is for the guys that really don't have there crawler all built up but would like to compete and not worry as much about the pro level guys.

The run what you brung class will be run the same way except no scale points or gate penalties just time.. the courses will have some gates set up to introduce crawling to new people who may own a wraith / scaler and would like to try out the rock course and get some knowledge about how to go threw the course and how the points would work if we were keeping track. Before they hopefully join this side of the hobby.

That really sounds amazing. I appreciate your willingness to be open and teach new-comers. I am certainly in that group

I have a Losi Night Crawler that I'll bring, but have never participated in a comp. also not sure whether it would totally qualify by the stricter comp standards/rules. So I'm happy to see the more mellow runs being held.

See you soon!

We would never turn anyone away if the truck was over the rule limit.we would just point it out to you to maybe have fixed as soon as you can to keep the comps fair for everyone involved. As for a scaler I run a scx10 setup on mine which is about 11 1/2" and a big battery on top and I am able to do most of it. A lot of the rock course is mainly setup for the crawlers I won't lie it is climbable thou.this will be our first time running all these classes at once so you may have to bare with us here and there. we all look forward to meeting everyone and hope you guys have a good Xmases and safe New years.cya January 11
