| RC4WD Ontario Challenge July?
The last couple years I've been to the East Coast Scale Challenge in New Castle PA put on by RC4WD. It's a decent enough gig, but an 11 hour drive, and last year it was starting to outgrow itself with the number of competitors verses the available on course drive time and on site lodging. This seems like it will be closer and a little smaller. Techically I still need to clear this adventure with the miss's, but would anyone else dare to go along? It would likely be a three or four day trip. Details are not yet fully released, but tickets will likely sell quickly whenever they release them. Date is July 10-12, location yet to be determined. If your really competitive, I'll warn you they calculate "scale points" into your final score. |

if I had a passport I might consider it. But then I don't give two shits about *scale points* so it'd probably be a waste of money to enter. |

I don't give a hoot about scale points either, but you get to check out some superbly scale trucks. FWIW, I finished 12 out of 60 trucks in Class 1 last year with only 8 scale points (which were mostly accidental) when most other trucks had 50+ points. So if you drive smart you can be competitive, but if you want to win, then yeah, you'll need at least 40+ points. One last thing to consider is they are very good at getting sponsers to donate schwag. Your almost guaranteed to receive more than your entry fee in raffle prizes. Last year I received a set of Mayhem wheels, and the year before a Holmes BRXL. They ussually even raffle off a toy truck or three. |

I'm interested but I would too hafta clear it with the misses as well. I do have my enhanced drivers license so I'm good there. I will ask the others that I hang around with like chad if he is interested. What do the tickets go for? I would love to go and meet the gcm guys and other great vendors I spend all my $$ with haha. |

Tickets for the East Coast Scale challange where $35 per class, and then $20 for the "fun run". But, the raffles are pretty good. I'd expect similar pricing for the Canadian event. Funny you mention the GCM guys, I waited in line at a course with one of them and he seemed pretty into it all. |
