Default Mt Ascutney

I'm going to take a friend up Cascade Falls trail on Mt Ascutney, Saturday morning around 10am. If anyone wants to join they're welcome to. If you don't know where it is, meet at the I-91 exit 8 park & ride in Ascutney at 10am.

I know I am late to this thread.

My son is interested in getting a crawler and we live in Springfield, VT. We have HPI WR8's and he has a Traxxas Slash so not complete noobs to RCing, but noobs to crawlers.
He is pushing to an axial SCX10...any advice?

if he gets something, there would be another person that could meet you to do climbs up cascade falls.

Thanks
Kevin

Awesome. Where do you run your rally cars and slash? I and another friend both have go fast rigs that we bash at Riverside and Stoughton pond quite often.

We should GTG sometime and we can both show you all the good (and bad) of the scx10, they are awesome rigs and we both own multiples of them.

Right now we run the rigs in our yard, sometimes go down to riverside. never took them to Stoughton.

My son would love to know there are others running rigs around the area.

he'd love to meet up anytime.
We live right in town on Litchfield Street.

he wants a SCX10 or a sawback. he wants the sawback only because the willies jeep body.

the SCX10 seems more capable to me. problem is price most of the time. a lot of used items Ive found were junk. Ill spend if the rig is worth it. and I will buy something that can be grown into rather than buy a whole new rig once the first one is out grown, I hate doing that.

Your son will forever love you if you get him an SCX. I would not suggest a Sawback as a first crawler as the leaf spring suspension is kinda weak compared to the 4 link on an SCX.

I always suggest a Kit over an RTR as most of the issues people are having with the SCX is due to poor quality control during assembly. With the Kit that is all left up to you.
