Default My Berg

This is the truck I ran at Nationals and I ran it for several months prior to Nats, haven't done a build thread on it yet, but shot some footage tuesday. Works really well for me. Couple things I still want to adjust on it(steering setup, maybe bring the front motor back up a smidge as I have it rotated down right now), but hey, isn't that always the truth
I'm just running it on a 3cell lipo in the vid, usually I run a 4cell, but these rocks don't require that much wheelspeed

Anyways, onto the crawling

Nice Video Tanis , looks like the driver and rig work well together . It was good to meet and talk with you at the Nats . If I ever get to the point where I can work with mine (then it will be on). For me it was like learning to drive all over .

That looks like its working really well for you. How well compared to your old Axial GC2 does the Berg setup do?

I can't wait to try out my Berg axles

Thanks man, it was so cool to finally put faces to names at Nats, and a pleasure to be able to see you run there.

Since I didn't change much switching from my Axial GC2 to the Berg, besides tweaking the chassis to get what I wanted(being able to slam the body more and run shorter shocks in front for example)it drives pretty similar for me, just plain and simply more capable on verts and sidehills/offcambers from the CG being so much lower and the ability to stall out instead of binding up hard.

It drives fairly similar, but the Berg definitely has the advantage.....it does most things easier than the Axial, and then does things the Axial just can't do

I would have to agree with you Gary, unless one of your dig switches gets some dust in it and sticks in dig mode on the second course at Nats(costing you 30pts), but other than that, I don't see any other dig setup being as consistent and efficient so far.
Have you decided to add dig to your rig yet?:-P
Thanks for letting me testdrive your rig there, I liked how it worked.

Nathan it's fun to watch these Bergs do there thing. They do it well!
It looks like you have your Rig setup with a lower belly clearance. How
much clearance do you have?

Rick-

I don't have it anymore Rick, but it went to a good home
If I remember right, it had 3" of belly clearance(if you picked up the chassis), but I ran the Losi white springs with the preloads backed way off, so it would sag down to like 2 1/4" or so when you set it on the ground, that combined with the front motor rotated down made for a very low CG, and it flat out performed.

That's one of my standard test locations about 5 minutes from my place, lots of cool lines and there is stuff that will push the limits of any rig

How's it working for ya, BTW?

Talking Bug Berg

[/IMG]Its Pimp as all heck Im runnin' a black bug body n Mayhems. Super stable, one of them point n shoot rigs that has plenty of wheel speed but preforms super well slow too! Best of both worlds Other than messin' around with other steering options and putting some new motors on er' its basically the same. I like that aluminum GC2 chassis as well nice n solid. I did win a zero 3.5 at the indoor challenge give away raffle... so I am planning on building another berg comp rig for the 09 season. I just may be putting it up for sale over the holidays? It is one solid, well preforming rig
