| Beach Babe (drive by video)
Hi Guys. Just got into RC cars/trucks recently, and been driving them by live Video. Initially i got a Summit a couple months ago, and bit by bit, have been tweaking it to suit. Anyways, i drive the Summit 100% by a live Video feed. Driving is by what i see transmitted from the summit back into my pair of Video Goggles that i wear. I use headtracking as well, so my head movements control the Camera back in the Summit. Here is the video i call "the second date", as it was the 2nd video drive with a passenger. Just a little something different for a change i guess. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vVpWqjsoY4o cheers |

Sweet vid bud , nice to see something different . Have you posted a build thread somewhere ? I'd like to see some more of the work you've put into the rig .

Thanks, i'm glad you appreciated something a little different, no build log, but everyone has been asking me to do a video showing the setup in detail, so i will do that shortly. It has been a work in progress, so constantly changing as well. I use a Futaba 9C on 36Mhz for radio control, thats a full range airplane controller with a range greater than 7km, with a groundplane antenna on the RC reciever as well, can get over 14km with ease. There is really only two Magic Futaba recievers that will give you this range, the R-319-DPS-1024 pcm, and R-149-DP-1024 pcm. lol, yeah there was a third date a couple days ago. Thanks for the comments, appreciate that. cheers |

I got into crawling because it offered yet another visual aspect of RC. This just boosts it to a whole other level. Im a huge video game junky and this fits me so well. How much does the googles camera setup cost someone. Can you throw up links to what products if you have time. Very well done!! EDIT: Just looking at some of your other vids on youtube....I want this so bad lol. Please do us all a big favor and make a vid on how and what you used to set this in car vid thing with the googles tracking. PLEASE Last edited by Superfubario; 02-10-2010 at 09:05 AM. |

Call me shallow if you want, but I was hoping this vid involved a spy cam and a nude beach. |

That drive-by-video, while probably too expensive to be done, would make for a really great competition format. We could have a driver in a remote location driving by video along with a spotter w/ radio communicator on the course spotting the truck.

If there is a way to mod a radio to turn the camera with the movement of your head then get a wheel and peddles to control steering and brake consider me broke and probably divorced. |
