Thanks, I'm finally happy with how it performs too. Now if only there was a super class comp around here I'd be set.

Looks good. Still think you need softer foams in the front.

They hook pretty descent but I was thinking about getting some knuckle weights for the front, I have no weight in any of the wheels. Maybe cutting down the hard inner foam and adding a strip of medium foam will help. I was planning on trying to fill the center of the tread more to round out the foams firmness and consistency anyway. I'm running the novas dual stage 9.5x2.25 foams.
Thanks for your input, I appreciate it!

Well maybe thats it, you need a little weight in front. It just looks like it could use a little more bite in the front tires.

I think I'll play with the foams first, I'd rather keep the weight down, my battery is up front and the weight bias is about an inch forward of center. Any advice on how to cleanly cut the foams? Scisors just don't seem like the tool of choice.

I've used a band saw.

that sounds like it might work, I don't have a band saw though. I thought about an electric knife but I don't have one of those either I just want to do it in a way that I don't make a mess of them. I'd like to keep what I cut off as tuning rings of a sort.

Are those the dual stage Super Foams you bought from me?
How many battery packs do you have on those foams now?

Those foams will break in and soften up the more you drive them. 8 - 10 battery packs will break them in.

Also, how tall did those tires finish out at?
What about an inside tire dimension?

The foams you bought from me are nearly 9.5" tall. The soft outer foam is thicker than I would have liked personally, but the foam was designed based off the input of Team Drivers. One simple method to softening up the outer is to take a sharp new razor blade and make cuts about 3/4 deep spaced out every 3/4 around the outside of the white soft outer foam going from side to side. It seems to me that the tires are over stuffed from watching both your videos.

How wide are the rims the tires are mounted to?
How much does the crawler weigh RTR?

Narrowing the inner foam is pretty easy if you need to do that. Narrowing the outer is usually not needed. Give me some information and I'll see what I can do to help you.

yes these are your foams
I only have 3 or 4 packs through them.
tires are 8.4-8.5 stuffed and mounted.
not sure about inside tire dimensions.
the rims are 1.5 inches wide.
rig is right at 9 lbs. RTR.

when I stuffed these babies in I thought I would never get the tires onto the rims.
the first two tires I made wrinkle a little more than the 2nd two, I have those two on the back. the two on the front only have maybe 1 wrinkle each. the back two I thought would benefit from adding a small piece in between the two foams to round out the softer foam to fill the center of the tread more.
the tires feel nice and soft if you push on them but only for the first 1/2 inch or so then they harden up fast.
should I narrow the inner foam?
...
I think I'll stop talking now and let you give your input, sorry!

I Bought a clod roller on eBay and that body was with it so I sadly don't know.
It's mounted on a carbon fiber NN chassis.

Narrowing the inner foam will soften the entire foam and tire set. If you want to try that, you could narrow it to 2" wide.

A better idea would probably be a different outer foam. Since the tires finished at 8.5", a thinner outer foam would have been better. If you trust yourself, you could belt sand just the outer foam to half it's thickness and you will notice a big improvement.

The outer foams you have are 9.5" tall and designed for 9" tall tires. The tires are overstuffed with foam at the moment and it shows up in the video. If you want to be patient, you could keep driving the foams and see how they break in. Once broke in though, for the most part they will stay at the firmness for months. By 10 battery packs you will know for sure.

Other options would be to narrow the outer foam. If you cut its width down it will become softer in the tire.

And yet another option would be to groove or channel the outer foam. you could cut a V channel all the way aound it, which would soften it for compression but keep a lot of lateral stability.

I think if I make the foams narrower the tires will be a little taller. So what would be better keeping them as wide as possible but softer or narrower, a bit taller and softer.
All the other rover or Sedona cut n shut tires I've seen look narrower than mine.
