Default Diamond City

Eritex turned me on to this spot several months ago, but I had to wait for the water to go down to get to it. Since today was nice and sunny I thought I'd take the drive and see what's what.

My camera got a boo-boo and wasn't being cooperative (some of the clips wouldn't upload). Here's what I managed to catch...

Lots of parking and plenty of rock for a comp or two.

I was all wound up to see the vid, only to see this:

"This video contains content from EMI, who has blocked it in your country on copyright grounds."

Alright, who's stuff did you rip off?.....

I think I fixed it. Used some random music that youtube offered up. Still sounds like the Beasty Boys to me though.

Some of it is choppy like Lakeview, the big smooth stuff is kinda chalky (watch the dust off the rear tires @ 2:48 ), and there is one small but uber grippy section that looks like black lava rock.

there are tricks to get around the music issue on you tube..

use mp3 rocket program to download your music..(its free)
it saves them as a i-tunes,which you-tube is in kahootz with.

its worked for me so far..

Thanks for the tip. Not that big of a deal though, I'll just use more obscure music.

There wasn't anything "here", and I was playing at "& here". The water level probably isn't as low now as it was when you were there so the "here" rocks may still be underwater. IIRC it was pretty low this spring.

Cool. It did look like 'mono rock' rather than the chunky bluff stuff like at Lakeview. I did see the puff of dust, and wondered if that was simply dirt/dust, or if it was from the rock.

I'm ready to have a comp there. Google maps says it's roughly 30 minutes shorter drive than Lakeview. Will have to see what the boss wants to do after we get done with Crawlapalooza.

Ah, alright. I spent most of my time at the "& here" site this spring. From what I saw then I could easily set up 10 courses with no over lapping so the water still must be higher then when I was there.

Did ya get ant snakes popping out at ya? I had 1 bite my tire

There's so many cool places to run around here...problem is that most of it isn't accessible or it just hasn't been found yet.

The dust was from whatever it was that was on the rock after being underwater for 6 months or so. Probably dried fish poop.

It should be a bit closer for you guys, though you leave the main highway and take a smaller twistier one into the boonies. Nice drive though.

I'd say the water is still 4-5 higher than it was this spring, and looking at the water line you could tell there was more rock to be seen. Did you notice the giant slab of smooth rock that looked like concrete? It looks like someone poured the other rock in liquid form over the top of it. Crazy stuff.

No snakes. Lots of stinky fish bones though.

Funny thing you said about most not being discovered. I have a spot about 3 minutes from my house that is AMAZING! It is on a little creek that we take the dog to play in the water and my son goes hunting for crawdads. It is like a mini Disney.

Sweet. Doing anything this weekend?

You should do an "Eritex Camp'n'Comp".

No its not a bad drive, about 45 minutes. That is as long as you don't get stuck behind a fully loaded logging truck.

We'll be back up there soon. I'm keeping my eye on the lake level...when it goes down a few more feet we'll make plans. Right now its dropping about 7-8 inches a day.

Sounds good. I have 5 acres next to the house for tents but you had better bring a gun. Between the rattlesnakes and coyotes....I don't walk from the house to the shop at night without some type of protection
