Default my chassis welding....

I have had more then 1 request for a video of my chassis welding process. So this is a thread to describe my settings and my machine I use.

All my chassis' are built with either 3/16" or 1/4" .035 wall stainless steel tubing.

Filler rod: typically .035 stainless steel but sometimes .045

My machine: Miller Dynasty 200 DX with foot peddle

My settings are:
high frequency start
150 main amps
300 PPS (pulses per second)
50 peak
10 background
.5 seconds pre flow
5 seconds post flow
20 CFH
100% argon

I use a pulser setting because it helps to pin point the arc.
Creating a very tight and focused arc which in turn makes a very narrow and stable puddle.

Here's a pic of my chassis jig. It's just a aluminum plate with a grid of holes. Then I use pieces of 1/2" key stock with holes to bolt down the frame pieces.

Sorry my phone didn't darken to see the weld puddle but here's some videos of me welding.

Let me know what you guys think.

I'm going to crank up my PPM and see how I like that, mine is WAY low in comparison.

Also, what torch setup are you using? Gas cup size?

I use a diamond wheel tungsten grinder to sharpen my tungsten.

I can't remember what size my torch is but the cup is a number 6 with a gas lense. I'm just running an air cooled torch.

Wow, nice stuff Warren, makes me want to try welding, you make it look easy.

I have two chassis by Warren, they draw a crowd every time I run them....and I beat the snot out of them with zero issues.

I'd love to post some pics but I don't want to derail Warrens thread
