I am going to join up with you guys this year for the Friday night series at Crossroads. I also found an awesome spot off of the parkway. It is where the Roanoke river goes under the parkway, mile post 114.9, follow the path and go down Fisherman's trail, walk to the river then go left. Lots o' nice rocks , it would be an awesome place for a comp. If anyone is interested let me know, I won't be able to go this weekend but next weekend is free for now.

I won't be able to make it for this weekend or next but I'm interested to see how the place looks as far as having a comp there. I'm always looking for more VA comp locations. Take some pics and keep me posted on the crawlability there. Parking, size, how far a walk, and public accessibility are some important things I'd need to know as well. Thanks.

It is at an overlook, plenty of parking, 5-10 minute walk (some spots are a little steep), you could actually crawl down to the spot over the rocks on the trail. Open to the public since it is the parkway and I sent you an e-mail last night with the pics I took 9/2/08, I'm not very good at putting pics in my posts. Robb would have a field day setting up a difficult corse down there. There are rocks for at least 600 yards up there.

It may still be a little early for the regulars. The weather needs to get a little cooler and the days a little shorter for the Friday night crowd to show up in full force...or at all. The course is still there and you can drive on it all you want though.

Very nice course. I was in Salem this past Friday night. I had my crawlers with me and was able to try them out on the rocks. I was wandering if the Fri night action was still going on. I am only about 2 1/2 hrs away. I may try to make a trip up that way this Friday or some time soon. Thanks again to the guys that let me try out the course.

Just to let people know the friday night action is abck on in full force. Bring your crawlers out! For what its worth there is a 1/18 scale carpet racing on fridays too. Mostly M18's but most any 1/18 onroad will do.

I think that day pretty much everyone couldn't make it because of the holiday. We had a half dozen crawlers last Friday. There will probably be that many this Friday as well.

Probably not. There is a buch of junk in front of the course right now. It only gets cleaned out for the winter months, it seems.
