| We will have a new method for scoring during the comps this year. This should keep things much closer and should help prevent a runaway first place competitor as we had last season. To combat that issue, we are adopting what I call a '3 point system' of scoring. What this means, is that points will be awarded to the finishers of a comp based on where they finished. So instead of aggregating the total score from each comp, we will award points based on the position you finish. First place will get 30 points, second 27, third 24 all the way down to position 10 which will get 3 points. We will also be rewarding 'bonus' points for those that score the lowest score on each course. Also, every competitor will get one point each comp, just for showing up. So, if you show up to a comp, get the lowest score on each course, and come in first place, you will earn 1 point for showing up, 3 points for getting the lowest score on each course, and 30 points for placing first, resulting in a score of 34. If there happens to be a tie for the lowest score on a course, one point is awarded to all drivers with the lowest score. All other rules will remain the same but here are a couple clarifications pertaining to tiebreakers. Tie breakers at the comp will be determined by the individual course scores, starting with the 3rd course, followed by the 2nd course, and then the 1st course. If it's still a tie, then the tie breaker stands. Tie breakers in the overall standings will be determine by your overall comp score like we did this in the first season. Example; John and Robb are tied for 2nd overall, based on the top 5 events at the end of the season. However, John has a total of 300 pts and Robb has 310 total pts, therefore John will get 2nd place while Robb takes 3rd place. Below are the number of 1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc. finishes each of the top five received, along with a model showing how the last season points would have panned out using this 3 point system. Place ... 1st . 2nd . 3rd . 4th . 5th . 6th . 7th . 8th . 9th . 10th . 11+ Mark ... 4 .... 2 .... ...... ....... ....... ...... ...... 1 .. ....... ....... ...... Randy . 2 .... 2 .... 1 ... 1 .... 1 ..... ...... ...... ..... ....... ....... ...... John ... 1 .... ....... 2 ... 1 .... 1 ..... 1 .. ...... ...... ....... ........ 1 Butch .. ....... ...... 1 ... ....... 1 ..... 2 ... 1 .... 1 .. ........ ....... 1 Luke .. ....... ....... ..... 3 ...... 1 .... ...... ...... ....... 1 .... ....... 2 Top 5 scores using 3 point system (not including bonus points or attendance point) .......... 1 .. 2 .. 3 ... 4 .. 5 ... Total Mark ... 30 . 30 . 30 . 30 . 27 . 147 Randy .. 30 . 30 . 27 . 27 . 24 . 138 John ... 30 . 24 . 24 . 21 . 18 .. 117 Butch .. 24 . 18 . 15 . 15 . 12 .. 84 Luke ... 21 . 21 . 21 . 18 .. 6 .. 87 So as you can see above, this keeps things nice and close all season, no blowouts this year. Hopefully all you guys will like this system. Last edited by '04 Rubicon; 10-08-2008 at 01:59 PM. |

| Just to clear things up, Mark and I had been discussing these changes for a few months. And like Mark said, this should keep everything interesting to the end. |
