As the days get colder and shorter, crawling is going to be fewer and far between.. But it will still be done. I will probably head to the dam every now and then, spur of the moment kinda thing.. but i think a cold ass bone shivering winter get together needs to be done.. Late January maybe?

For those who have not yet been there, This place is def worth checking out.. Tons-O-Fun

haha that should be the official title of the get together. "Dam cold ass bone shivering winter get together" Late January sounds like a good idea.

hahaha I like it.

We might go down there in January and instead of water puddles everywhere, have ice to crawl on.

You guys should put a comp schedule together and keep score. It sounds like you have enough members to form a club. We have VARCOR here in the Richmond area. Here's what left of our schedule if any of you can make it out.

2009-2010 VARCOR Comp Season Schedule

#4: Sun, Jan 24 Belle Isle
#5: Sat, Feb 20 Pony Pasture
Money Run: Sun, Mar 20 Fredericksburg
#6: Sat, Apr 17 Belle Isle

I'd like to check out the dam, it looks like a great place. Im gonna map quest it and see how far it is.

Richmond is 4+ hours away from this area.
Just in case MapQuest isn't clear on that.

I wouldn't mind heading up to Richmond to a couple of the comps. I suppose it's not THAT far considering some folks travel 2ish hours just to crawl at the dam haha.

KBrog, Head on down anytime to crawl.

We need to start thinking about a date for the gtg. Time to start throwing some dates out there. I am thinking about the 1st or 2nd weekend in Feb.? Sat or Sun? On a side note, after 9 days my power just came back on from the snow on the 18th.

I agree with that...I'm cool with basically any weekend. As long as I know a week or 2 in advance I can get off work no problem. 1st or 2nd week in Feb would be enough in advance it could work out well.

I didn't know you guys were without power also. My parents didn't have power for about 7 or 8 days due to the snow, too. Grundy was a mess...there were trees and power poles down everywhere.

finished my new toy today. can't wait to try it out at the dam. The snow is pretty much solid ice right now, so its pretty fun to drive on. Tested it out around the house for as long as i could stand the cold.

the dam is pretty icy right now. Makes for an interesting time. Mostly trying to stay on your feet.

I'm still up for a GTG in the near future, perhaps Feb. like we discussed or whenever. Maybe if we plan far enough in advance some more out of towners will show up.
