Maybe the weekend after that then? The weekend of the 20th? Maybe we can get together next weekend to make repairs to the HT course? Thoughts on this? |

Well guys after dropping by HT last night and speaking with Randy, it appears that any repairs to the course will have to take place on the weekend of the 20/21st. It was noted that more resin and hardener are needed, and it isnt a small amount. Randy had mentioned that there were 5 gallons used to creat the course that is now there. He said he has an additional 2 gal. of resin, however I dont want to speak for him and say that this is up for use. Aside from the resin, I see that maybe we would need to patch some areas with new burlap. There probably isnt much burlap needed. Im not sure if HT will foot the bill for any of the material, since it draws in customers. Ill have to wait for Randy to chime in on that. If not, does anyone have a hook up to get the supplies cheap? I have yet to price resin, but I cant imagine that 5 gal. of resin is "cheap". We'll see where that goes. On another note. Provided I get the time I may very well build a piece of course that I can throw in the bed of my truck to bring down and add to whats there. If nothing else I can bring it for a GTG. No promises here! I guess for now, lets see who else is willing to donate some time that weekend? Also, does anyone want to GTG before then for a crawl or trail run somewhere? |

we're good on burlap. i have enough of it to cover the existing course plus some more. right now, i'm looking for donations especially at the moment it's free to use the course (unless we do a comp there). they may change in the future especially if i use the store budget. so i like to keep it free for now. donations donations donations. 1) fiberglass resin 2) hardner for the resin 3) rocks, rocks, rocks 4) sand, kitty litter, anything that can be added to the resin for traction 4) wood & nails 5) 5+ gallon buckets, rollers, brushes 6) any thing else you would like to donate to build obstacles or tools. the first phrase to patch and recover the older pieces. the second phrase would be add additional pieces so ideas would be helpful. i have a few and plan on making them at home and bring them in. so you can do that. we have pretty much the whole back wall area (two walls opposite of the Dynano track). i looked at my schedule the last weekend in Feb would be the first weekend i could do something. |

You got paypal Randy? I have been way too busy to come by the store. I seen a few threads on here that use paper mache/milk crates and plaster. Seems like a reasonable idea, you can create crate sized sections which can be added here and there, and they are stackable... I built some to put in my shop on the ship so I could climb around while on deployments but they got thrown away the plaster is pretty cheap on ebay. I started a new BastJR/Axial rig I hope to maybe comp with, if anyone wants to gtg on a trail somewhere give me a msg on here or a ring on the cell 7576799095 just ask for phil and if I dont answer im probably out to sea, just leave a message. Ill be out of town this weekend/week, ill be back Friday so if anyone wants to gtg saturday(13th) hit me up. |

Hey somebody mentioned to me, using STUCO. Its cheaper than RESIN. It has texture built into it, its very hard, water proof, seems like a great idea. You can get bags of it at Home Depot. Aside from that, I can get all the styrofoam I want from our reciving dept. The all I would need if some chicken wire. That seems like a very cheap way to build some stuff. Thoughts?

I may very well be able to get 2' or 3' pieces of ply wood / partical baord. Ill have to keep an eye out for stuff to biuld with. I dont have much room in the garage at the moment. Randy, if I pick up some decent materials to build with, can they be dropped by at HT?
