| My family and I are planning a trip to West Virginia Wildlife Center, Cass railway, Seneca and Smoke Hole caverns and Blackwater falls. We plan on staying in Elkins since it is central to all these locations. I was wondering If theres anything in the immediate area around Elkins to do? I.E. hobby shops, model railroad display, go carts, or a cool place to run the crawlers. Also is there any good restaurants? Thanks, Brian |

| Hopefully you didn't go yet, because there are some great places to crawl. While you are there you should definitely go to the Dolly Sods area. If you ride clear to the top and out to the end (Bear Rock) you will get some great views of the mountains and be able to see into Virginia. There are also some great rocks to play on around the Bear Rock parking area. I can't remember the name of the hiking trail with the Cranberry swap at Dolly Sods, but it is near Bear Rick and has some nice rock gardens as well. Near Blackwater Parks lake there is also a great crawling area, particularly if it is dry. The lakes overflows into a water fall that has a great staircase. Have fun. I am in the Follansbee area. |
