Default RC Rock Crawling at Big Bay Park In Whitefish Bay

It took me a while to try out the rocks at Big Bay even though this is probably the closest spot to my house! It is only about 5 minutes away.

I have been slope flying rc sailplanes at Big Bay for many years and knew that there are erosion control rocks at the bottom of the hill. It turns out that this is one of the best spots I've tried so far. There are several good courses that are very doable but challenging enough that it is not a given that you will make the obstacle. I think this would be a good spot for a competition.

Since this spot is right on the lake there are a few spots that may not be usable if there are big waves on Lake Michigan but there are a couple of courses that are towards the top of the rocks that should be accessible most any time.

Big Bay Park is on Lake Drive in Whitefish Bay. You can take a quick right on Palisades and park there. Left side of the street only! It is a short walk down a set of stairs or a curving path.

This spot, Big Bay Park, is north of the Light House in Lake Park about 4-5 miles.

There is also some good crawling right on the lake directly below the light house. I'll post something about that soon.
