Default Gtg

Anyone up for a GTG this weekend? Looking at possibly Sunday. Location ???? Thought about Milwaukee shore line or Devils Lake....

I'll have to do a weather check. I have a feeling it's going to rain this weekend.

Milwaukee sounds great. I would not be able to do devil's lake.

Guys,

We could do Milwaukee and if it is raining go to the indoor course. It is a work in progress but I think it is usable and I could use some input. I'd welcome a few guys even if we can use an outdoor spot. The location is only 5 miles or so from the Filtration Plant site.

Sunday weather looks better than Saturday by quite a bit.

Noon at the Filtration Plant Parking Lot? It is at the north end of Lincoln Memorial Drive just before you go up the hill off the lake front.

That sucks, I was planning on Sunday. OICU812 will also be in on Sunday as well. I might have some time early morning on Saturday, may be a nice ride on the bike if it's not raining.

Noon will work for me. Do you have direction to get there? We will be comming up on I-43. I don't know my way around Milwaukee too well.

I'd like to get out there, too, but don't count on me. Family is in town and I'm not sure what time they are leaving.

Coming from the South on 43 just take 794 to the lake. The freeway ends right at Summerfest. Head north from there about5 or 6 miles along Lincoln Memorial Drive. You'll pass the new art center right away, the lagoon, McKinley Marina, Bradford Beach and the parking lot I'll be in is actually the first right AFTER Bradford beach but it is about a mile North of Bradford.

If you start going up a hill and away from the lake you went too far.

I think you want turn right @ Ravine Rd, and there is the parking lot leading to Crawler World.

Thanks, weather is looking good. We are planning on leaving by 11, and we will be on the bikes so I won't be answering my phone.

Did you get the tennis balls cut yet? If you did bring a couple of gates.

Thanks, Eddy! Ravine Rd.! I never in over 40 years of going up and down that hill knew the name of the road. It is known locally as "Snake Hill" but I'll bet that does not appear on Google or MapQuest!

That was a fun GTG. Thanks to everyone that came out! The weather couldn't have been better. Schmenzer was kind enough to show us three nice spots in Milwaukee for crawling, and possible comp locations. The bonus was the slope glider demo, which was wicked cool. I was so in awe that I forgot to take pictures! I did take pics of the two outdoor spots we were at. Hope everone has a great Labor Day!
