That looks great! I assumed you where using brake line before but it looks like solid rod do to the heat and good looking welds. I think it should be plenty strong.

My brother totaled his real car on Wednesday so that set us back a few days he's perfectly fine but the car isn't.

I ordered some more stock replacement knuckles from thunder tech for $2.50

Anyways here is the progress on his new chassis with a 17 inch wheelbase.

thanks guys.
That thing should work good.
I didn't get my txt or wheel adapters today:( It will get test driven soon.
If you guys need any of those heavy duty 3/16 black shock mounts. I can bring some out. I finally found a place that sells them locally.
Tried to jb an extra diff together. When I squeezed the tube the back blew out and got that crap every where. Hopehully I can clean some of the jb off as it's all over the gears.
Oh by the way I'm in a red escort wagon.

As long it was just one tube like just the white or just the black you should be able to wipe the stuff off. JB weld is hardened by a chemical reaction between the white and black. I have been PMing a guy near my hometown that wants to come.
We have like 7 more days I hope everybodys parts come and we don't get rained out.

Yeah I just got my truck back into driveable condition today as well. I still have to fix a few things. The gearboxes sound like they are binding and Y harness for the rear steer still has to come. But the Moab tires are simply amasing! They gave me twice the grip I got before with my bfts.

I think your stick is going to dominate. It looks great.
I can't wait to try my moabs.
The velocity wheels look cool. NICE

Thanks, you guys should keep up with me for the most part fine. It seems you guys have a few mods done to your trucks. Just the guy with the stock maxx may have some issues. Yeah I narrowed the velocitys about 1.25 and drill lots of holes. Narrowing the rim gave me some sidewall and a little firmer carcass.

Got all my parts finally. Luckily my step-dad is a mailman, found my box of stuff in loading area of the post office, behind a bigger box. And tower hobbies actually sent it out two days after thier email said....humm.

Had a good scare, my txt took a real nasty tumble down a hill of rocks towards the river while testing out the new servo. Didn't get wet, but the frame is out of square, broke a shock mount and few other little things. All from some serious glitching problems. I think the antenna wire was a little to close to the rooster. Gonna rearrange all that tonight and add a 6v regulator to the front servo. I'll be there, although the truck might not be driving straight....but then again, I'll never notice on the rocks.

Man I called Thunder Tech and the next day the parts where at my house. Super fast shipping and it was only the standard priority mail for $4. If you need stock clod parts very fast and cheap call them.

I'm waiting on a hitec servo I won in a giveway last week and frankyrizzo's free Y-harness he's mailing me.

I tried the XTM servo in the front but the servo has a lot of slop and no holding power so I have to change that out. Soya the guy with the maxx has this same crappy servo he wants to change it out as well.

I ordered a alum servo horn from the LHS for the Xtm so now I need to order a hitec arm instead.

I disassebled the rear gear box to find no striped gears at all even though a clicking noise is heard under high stress when going up hills. This has never happend before usually I open the case and find the teeth all rounded off. I might replace the gearbox case in case its flexing funny or something. I kinda just CA'ed a crack together a while back.

Lack of power may be do to my worn motors, I hope not. Maybe I'm just not used to the extra weight of the tires they seem really heavy.

I am getting a rear stall issue the rear motor just quits on high stress.

So I guess I'll rebuild the rear motor put new brushes in it and see if that fixes it.

The lack of power almost just feels like a dead battery. I guess I'll cycle all of my batterys before I go. An pickup a few more packs as a safety net.

I worked on my brothers Clod last night I worked on mounting the electronics and the sealed radio box.

Our trucks are pretty much waterproof all though Soya is the only brave enough one to test this.

If you guys need parts machined or whatever I have a lathe and a mill just email me some specs. I'll make you guys some custom alum parts. I'm no pro machinist but I can make most stuff to get your guys going again.

Heres the plans again in case someone missed them.

Load the car up with stuff
Meet at the Hobby shop somewhere around 11:00
drive to the lake
crawl the rocks

I'll Pm you my Cell phone Cole82 in case you get lost, Halfj-7 should have it already.

Got everything put together, took it for a little test run, and burned up the rear servo..... somehow i feel there is a conspiracy against me. Put in an old futaba 3305 for now which works ok. Wierdest thing, I backed into a flower pot that had some water in it, very very little water splashed the servo, I shook the water off and drove it another 10 minutes before it just up and quit. Thought those things where more waterproof. Gonna see if i can get a hitec here in time, or maybe thrash friday night and rework the mounts for a 1/4 scale servo. Orj just wheel the old stuff and be happy.
My plan
Drag up out of bed
Drink coffee and frappacino's
Madison hobby store 11:00
Take a nice fall drive up to the lake
Wheel the heck out of it till dark
Drive to madison
search for Smithwicks and local beers
drink coffe and frappacino's
drive home and not crash out

I had no idea the hitecs where so sensitive to water. I've opened up the cases to my servos and found water on the chip and they still work fine. I'd seal them up with shoe goo.

It was a futaba 3305 on my rear axle. Took it apart last night and no water in it, so I'm wondering if it just died on it own. Didn't like it anyway.

I got all 4 boxes today!
There is a very big problem though. I made the truck to clear the narrowed stock tire rim combo.
The moabs rub the panhard bar and the link. Any ideas!

My Brothers Clod crawls hills awesome! It went up the basement stairs that are at like a 45 degree angle.

Short video http://www.rcpics.net/img/65990

My Y- harness and servo still have not came yet, I worked most of the bugs out of my truck. The weather is supposed to be cool like 58 or something. I started loading the tool box up and checked the trucks over for broken parts, loose screws ect.

Cole it kinda sucks about your adaptors but at least it will have good turning with no tire scrub. If there is ever a comp you can fit through gates better. Also with the narrowed tires it sets you even farther apart in looks from the rest of the crawlers on this site. Gives you a original look. That's kinda like my crawler I really don't like having the same stuff as everybody so I customize and pioneer some new ideas.

I've got a regular y harness and a reversing harness I can bring out with me.
Can't wait to go.
Taking friday off to get ready. I haven't heard from josh in like a week. I'm going over to his house to see if he is alive.
Holly crap mines a poser compared to that.
