| For the scaler guys...
"How to run a winch with a 2 channel radio" vid. Some of you might have seen this already. I have two 3Racing winches that are just begging to be used, but my 3rd channel option sucks. I can't wait to try this! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_25UPvhdjzY |

were kinda in the same boat with our Hitec radio gear... But I think our 3rd channel option is better if you switch it to linear...reel winch in, reel winch out? When it is centered(line all the way out) it will beep so... IDK it might work:? I think your 3rd has the option of shift or linear? mine does, just no 3 pos. I've been wondering about this for a while... It is cool that you can do it with a 2ch but you would still have to flip the switch on the truck... I'm saving my pennies for the new Futaba radio...Since Hitec is living in the past! |

My radio only has a 5 position option on the 3rd channel, useless for running a winch or much else. Plus you have to scroll through the program to access it. I'd like to upgrade to a better radio system for the crawler (future dig unit?) but they work just fine for the rest of my rigs. I just thought it'd be fun to run a winch with what I have for now. I'll have to try it out. Troy. |

Problem solved . I broke down and bought a new radio system, Spektrum DX3R! It's only been about 8 or 10 years since my last radio purchase. This whole thing weighs about the same as my old radio battery pack. Features and adjustments are mind-boggling, now I can winch (or dig if I get one) till my heart's content. I especially like the naming feature, no more guessing which rig is on which program. The downside is that the RX's are about twice the price as my old Hi-tec system. Troy. |

Are you running one of these radios? If so, what do you think about it? Dang, I feel so modern now. Like stepping out of the stone age . Troy. |

For what it cost, I kinda have to love it . So who's got the best deal on rx's for it? They're like $69 at Hobbytown, and I need a couple more. Troy. |
