This one (from the Comanche) might be one of my very first Axial axles. Destroyed bearings, stock R/P gears, no grease and half a million miles on her . Yup, she's gonna get some lovin'!

I took the family to Road America yesterday to see the SCCA Runoffs. Saw some outstanding racing and had some pretty good weather.

Heard some rumors that the Appleton race track is moving. Any truth to that?

Yup, it's true. They're moving into the All Brands Appliance building on Holly Road, the frontage road off hwy 41 and south of Pierce Manufacturing. I'm sure I'll be involved in some way.

When will that project be done? Do they still have the other track open?

The current track and store is still open and running, not sure exactly when the new place will be ready. I know it'll be pretty soon though. I'll be there Saturday for open practice and maybe tonight for racing if there's a light crowd. Just like crawler comps, always more waiting than wheel time.

You and junior should stop in and check it out sometime, only $5 to play on Saturdays 11-6.

If the kid wanted to run the Rustler on a regular basis, dirt track specific tires would be a good idea along with dialing back the horsepower a bit. Traction is king on the dirt .

Bigred22 recently bought a Slash and came out for some track practice time Saturday. We had a good time racing/bashing the afternoon away. I definitely enjoyed whoopin' up on him, even though it wasn't really a fair fight .

One of these weekends we will have to come out. Mnstr always leaves his homework for Sat. so it's hard to do anything on Sat. Maybe I'll go by my self.

This Friday the Appleton track will be open for practice/play at noon. The normal race schedule will kick off at 7PM.

Our old friend Walter showed up at the track last Saturday, kinda surprised to see him .

A few pics of the new race facility. Fresh dirt, 90 foot run, better lighting and no support beams on the layout. I can't wait to see what they come up with for the new track design .
