Sorry to hijack, but that place is such a good time: Flood 2004...boats parked in the parking lot: Devil's Doorway: Overlooking the south side: I can't remember what this place is called, but you need to go there to see all the stuff this guy welded up. I know they did a story on him on the discovery channel, but I never saw it: It was all made out of scrap: You may now resume your regularly scheduled discussion... |

Yeah that Devils Doorway is the only section of the park I have never been to. I never thought it was that big. I'll have to scope that area out sometime. Even though I think it was hardcore rock stairs to the top similar to CCC trail. Hanging off the side of a huge cliff with a heavy crawler in one hand and a radio in the other with no hand railing to grab in the case I trip. Yeah that guy with the metal stuff. I sometimes pass that place on my way up to the park. |

Tell me about it, it hasen't changed at all since I started with RC. I pulled the motor out can't see any damage I may just have to grease it up more or use differnt grease.

Yeah, mine gets loud once and while. I use a little standard wheel bearing grease and it seems to help.

Don't use grease. It holds dirt and water in. There is a reson the gears are slippery allready. I just got 2 years of running out of my gear set. Also your cases could be misaligned (warped). Again make sure the srews are tight mine work loose for some reson.

I don't know, I used to run the gears dry until I kept having issues with the teeth sharpening and folding over about every 6 months. I've had the same set of lubed gears I have now for about a year. I replaced the gear case last month and the gears look brand new like no wear at all. If you use marine grade wheel bearing grease like for boat trailer wheel bearings it won't wash off in water.

Hmm, what would you call the shock setup? Looks like a sway setup? Looks like it works like the opposite of a sway bar. |

Looks like it works well but it still has the terrible emaxx belly clearance. You still loose ground clearance when the suspension squats when climbing. Good Idea though thats the best I've seen a IFS suspension setup. When Soya had his we bought a Hardcore Titanium extended chassis to make it longer. Soya, we should rework your truck a little before the run. Make it longer, lighter, and lower. Maybe weld up some axle housings. I've got off work today and tomorrow. That's exactly what I've been telling him. He wants to keep it maxx like instead of linking it up. I don't think he believes me when I tell him what we crawl on. Also what setup works and what doesn't. Last edited by Cole82; 02-25-2006 at 03:36 PM. |

I've got the bottom links done, I need some more metal for the tops ones. lol, Soya is actually the one with no gear box issues. The emaxx tranny is bomb proof. We have striped a few ring and pinions. The gears are just fine it's everything else thats a issue. |
