Come on Traildawg, it was a beautiful 28 degrees, gentle 10 mph wind right off Lake Michigan, can't get any better Anyhow I got a pack through both rigs, Wicked had a driveshaft issue. Got back and ordered a set of white dot rovers for the xr cause the blues just didn't cut it. Does anyone know a good way to soften the rubber on the blues to make them have some more traction?
Need to replace the stock plastic upper links on the xr as well, they just about fold in half when its bound up real tight.

I was using the Blue's w/real good result's... More than likely the Temperture outside was messing with your traction.

The upper link's were the first thing I replaced, They will buckle under load.

You beat me to it, T-Buck . Cold temps will mess with the foams also. I don't know if there's much than can be done about that.

Put a big ass brushless in it, monster truck tires, and do some snow bashing!

While at the comp over the weekend I bought some new shocks. I made just one small mistake, one set is short the other set is medium. It sets level at 3" GC, but the back lifts more then the front. Guessing it would be better to change them around so the front lifts higher, am I right in this thinking? All shocks are the same eye to eye, one just has a longer body then them other one.

I would leave the short ones on the front. I think that it would work better on climbs helping to keep the wheels down and the weight forward. That's what I'm thinlin' not sure though.

Right now the longer ones are in the front and the shorter ones in the rear. When the front wheels go up the shock stops with about 1/2" from hitting the spring retainer. Reason for this is my chassis hits the upper links. Right now I can get the front wheel about 4 to 4 1/2" off the ground and the rear wheel about 4 1/2" to 5".

You could try and limit the longer shocks.

Is it bad that the back goes higher up? Right now the shocks don't leak and I would rather not mess with them too much if I don't have to. If it's bad that the back goes higher I will take em apart.

Edit. I could just take the end rod off and place something on there to keep the shock from going all the way down, right?

I don't know if it will be good or bad, you'll have to drive it and find out. Yes you can just take the rod end off and limit it from going all the way in.

Rgr thanks for the help. Will have to wait til the next comp to test anything. Altho I might be able to test down my the lake again.

Also after the comp I came home and placed a few orders. I ordered a GH Aluminum tranny housing, Jato 0.7, 1.0 and 1.1 springs, metal 88t gear, metal tranny gears and two 1300mah batteries.

Ok so today I placed an order for Losi white springs, Losi pink springs, some tools and a set of Beef Toobs. I'm going to want til the next time I'm at HTO and get my springs. I moved the front shocks to the rear and the rears to the front. Doing this allowed my front wheel to get higher off the ground. Also sent my puller to HH to get it looked at and repaired.

Have you tried Losi golds? Kasper swears by them. I have golds on the rear, Axial blacks upfront. I have whites and grays also, what are pinks rated at?

Haven't tried the golds yet, thought they might be too soft. Looks about right Kasper, I couldn't find any info on the yellow springs. I got an e-mail today from HH, seems one of the wires was busted that connects to the com. I got lucky and he had some 7t puller armatures in stock.

Edit: Installed a set of VP zero ackermann knuckles and a Jones'N BTA tie rod, Junfac wheel wideners. The 7t puller was repaired by HH, new armature was installed.

Thinking of selling my AX10 or trading it for a 4x4 slash. Seeing as it's hard for me to get up to HTO and such seems like a waste of a good crawler to keep it. Seems I could get more use out of a 4x4 slash. If anyone is interested shoot me a PM.
