Default Wausau Area

Anyone around the Wausau area(or say within 30mi or so) know of any scaler/crawler clubs or RC clubs that do planes trucks the works? I just recently got back into RC and would like some peeps to trail or crawl with.

Crawlinisfun and northsydryd both live out there. Usually make a trip or two out to Dells of the Eau Claire. Pretty awesome trail truck spot. I think there might be a few others out there in that direction.

If there was a club for plane fliers in the area, I'd imagine you'd wanna go over to Pope's Hobby, and ask them about it.
There is a club in the area, wausaurcracers.com , they race on a carpet track in a storefront near Taco Bell, on Grand Ave., over in Schofield.

But I'm not aware of a club for crawling, sorry. Might just hafta keep hangin' out over by the Eau Claire Dells, and see who all shows up on a regular basis.

Stop in and see Dave or Warren at Pope's Hobbyland. There isn't a crawler club per say. But they have a Fly club "Wausau RC sportsman". Great bunch of guys, and a sweet fly field out by man made lake off of 72nd ave.

If you dabble in the wausau rc racers beware....

I don't get back over there very much (if at all) anymore. I have been running with the MNRCRC group over in Taylor's Falls for a few years. I just started back up after a couple years off... It's the same distance to there as Wausau is for me. and it's one of the top crawl spots for both comp and scale rigs around hands down. It would be WELL worth the trip over for anyone...

Taylor's Falls is incredible! WiRCRC spent a few days there, and got to run with the Minnesota guys. Just awesome, can't wait to make it back again sometime.

I'm not sure how much of the area in those pics will be driveable, alot depends on the water level. If you plan another trip there, post up ahead of time and maybe we can scrape together a group here to run with you! Nothing cooler or more fun than having half a dozen trucks or so bombing around the rocks and trails .

Heck yah. Next time we go up there we will post up here. Maybe we can get a crew up over there!

We had a great time. Only problem we really had was all of the people. There was 2-3 graduation parties and a wedding in the park so we were dodging just as many people as we were obstacles for a while there. Can't beat it though for only about 25 minutes from my house though! Water was a bit high but we still had plenty to play on.

Yeah, I'm all for a GTG. As long as the weekend is free, I'll be there and I'm sure Dawg will too!

Are you talking on the corner of HWY S and U by the ballroom? I've pondered looking into there in the past as my mother-in-law had a farm over in that area..
