| Interstate Events for 2015
Hello Wi Crawlers, The MNRCRC club is having our winter meeting in a few weeks and one of our ideas for next year is to collaborate with crawlers from the other side of the river. In 2014, we ran 8 crawling competitions, 4 G6 style events, a TTC, and an end of year scale crawl. We're looking to increase participation in the local club and just do what we can to help the hobby grow. I'm looking for feedback from you guys on if it makes sense to try and schedule an event on Wi soil. Give us all a chance to meet more people and crawl some different terrain. As some of you might know, we comp at Interstate state park in Taylors falls. While we've been on the rocks, I've seen a lot of enticing terrain on the Wi side of the park. Also, please consider this an invitation to all of you who are close or might be close at some point to attend any of the scale events or competitions we host next season (For anyone really close to the border we do have a winter crawl series starting in a few weeks in Fridley MN, in one of our members garage). There will be some limitations obviously, as there won't be many that would be able to drive over to the eastern side of Wi. However if the terrain is cool and event has a lot going for it, we have plenty of folks who will drive for a great day of RC (2.5 to 3 hrs drive time max). Looking forward to hearing from you guys. Wausau area is a good place to have a meet, we have Rib Mountain and the Dells of the Eau Claire River, I'm not to sure of many places west of here I'd have to sit on the google maps for a min, I know up north just off hwy 8 is Tims Hill (drove around it never walked it), and there has to be some areas around Eau Clair. Always look forward to meeting new people to crawl with and always point them to rcc if they haven't been on here yet. I have a big break coming up for Xmas and wouldn't mind some indoor scale crawling if the dates work out. |

If date and time worked out I would be willing to go for a ride. Several years back we had about 6 or 7 of us WiRCRC members spent the weekend at Taylor's Falls (awesome place) and had the pleasure of comping with you fine folks. Looking forward to doing it again. I'll be watching to see what gets planned. I'm on the east side of the state, Green Bay/Appleton area. |

Here's the mn schedule Lets try to hash out this year's schedule online. First thing we need to do is to identify the dates that we need to avoid. I'm looking for things like holidays and big events that will pull #'s from our club (i.e. Crawl for a Cure). We should also note other major events that we need to work around. A good example would be knowing when Grandma's Marathon is and not scheduling anything in Duluth that weekend. I'll start us off and keep adding as I think of more. But if you know of something, please post and I'll keep the O.P. updated. **Phase 2** (1/6/15) Next, we need to decide what weekends to hold the 12 events on. We normally try to avoid back-to-back weekends, as well as going more than 3 weeks between events. We'll decide what events next, right now just what weekends. I laid out what I think will work in Blue. I think it gives a nice break mid-season, as well right before the Finals. Let me know what you think. ***Phase 3*** Next step is to layout what type of event and location. I've found that doing these at the same time usually works best to help see the big picture. April 5th - Easter 12th - 19th - 26th - (Test & Tune/Casual GTG?) - Interstate Park May 3rd - Event Comp - Interstate Park 10 - Mother's Day 17 - Event Scaler - Byron? 24 - Memorial Day Weekend 31 - Event Comp - Interstate Park June 7th - 14th - Event Comp - Interstate Park 21st - Father's Day 28th - Event Comp - (Duluth) July 5th - Independence Day Weekend 12th - Event Scaler - Thompson Dam 19 - 26 - Aug 2nd - Event Comp - Interstate Park 9th - 15th - Event Comp - Interstate Park - Border Battle? 23rd - 30th - Event Scaler - Byron? Sept 6th - Labor Day Weekend 13th - Event Comp - (Duluth) 20th - 27th - Oct 4th - Event-Finals Interstate Park 11th - 18th - 25th - Event-Howl Krawl Interstate Park Last edited by nerby149; 07-22-2015 at 01:24 PM. |

If it was Saturday I would probably be able to make it, but not Sunday. 5 hour drive home. Have to get up at 3:50am Monday for work. |

Is there something going on around there that weekend? Not finding any rooms available. I really don't wanna spend $120 a night either. |
