I only went the scale chassis route because it seemed fun and accessible to start with a chassis that isn't terrible. The ax10 and losi chassis are crappy versions of real comp chassis so making people use those just seemed depressing.

But Im weird, id also like to see a cludbuster / juggernaut axle class or a tlt class. I want to relive the early days damnit.

Yep, them olden days were awesome..... crawler geezers.

Still have jugg's in a box ready for a trip back in time.

It's just as fun crawling in the rocks with a scx10 as it is with a full blown comp crawler.

The majority of potential comp crawler candidates are never going to hang around long enough to learn how to build a good rig. They want to buy it and drive. That is just the way this world works.

So if anything get back to basic rigs. Catch is the pro crawler guys will never go for that. LOL "thumbsup"

I know. But that song is gay. I was going to type the word gay but that would have caused a stir.

Re: Super mini class

It's hard now days for people to compete that don't want to dump a bunch of money into a truck. People that want to drive at comps every now and then with their pretty "stock" trucks. Like Tomy was saying it's harder for people because they want to compete with people their own level and with cars that are equal to theirs so it's fair. But if you start making a whole bunch of classes so everyone can compete then you get it so there are a few people driving in each class instead of a bunch of people all competing in just a few classes. I personally find it much more enjoyable the more people that are competing in the same class.

As for the Super Mini Class it's an idea that I've had for a couple years that I've wanted to mess with and come up with something for but I just haven't ever had the time to come up with anything yet...

I admit that I didn't read all the thread but still I will give my opinion based on these last 2 pages.

Golf!
Yes, kind of boring sport. Yet they managed to make all players able to compete again each other.
A pro can compete with an amateur because of the different handicaps.

So I would suggest handicap points. This could be, for example a time you would have to pass a gate or finish the course or even, if you have a much better car, start the course already with handicap points.

Just my 2cent's...

Besides this, Crawlers are a small community of builders, I agree, but I don't think you have to be one to have a competitive car. In that case you need to pay for it. Expensive but it can be done.
If you want a cheap RC fix look elsewhere.

This thread was disappointing. I came wanting to see a bunch of pics of mini supers. Instead I see all word posts. And golf? I'm gonna go watch grass grow now...

I like the idea. However, with some slight variations. It takes WAY too long to establish one's handicap in golf.

Handicap?

Comp crawling is not for everyone. Never has been. Never will be. Nothing is. It is for those that are for it. The field of play is level. Game up. Game on.

People wonder why alot of times ideas don't get moved forward... it's cause people start talking about random stuff and everyone forgets what the whole thread is really about and nothing gets done...
