Touch or Repair?

Rules state:

1.4.1 -
Vehicle Touches include but are not limited to: repairs, repositions, vehicle driving/falling into the driver.

So why do some clubs have a 5 point penalty for repair and not 10?

renoirbud 03-14-2009 12:06 PM

Because their rules committee member is not up to date on the rules.

Thats why i am asking trying to get up to date so is it 5 or 10? i would say a touch is a touch 10 point penalty.

Any touch is 10, the clock is then stopped and the vehicle is returned to the previously progressed gate. If an off course repair then 1 minute is also deducted from the driver's remaining time. A rollover touch is 5.

roksloski 03-15-2009 04:29 PM

why is 1min deducted?????????
what if you are already at 4min...
and no reveres and one gate to go..
thats means you 40 out with your progress points......WTF

because that what the rules say. (1 minute deduction) on a off course repair. on course repair time continues to run. both are 10 pt. penalties and restart from last progressed gate.

yeah, you would have timed out if you took an off course repair minus porogression. if you take a on course repair you would have whatever time you have left after you finish repair at last progreseed gate!

If you go to a big comp, the 1 min will be taken away.
But at a club , if thats what the club want to do, they don't have to take the 1 min away.

At our OKRCRC and NWARC clubs we don't take the 1 min. away. That would be up to the club.

But a touch and a repair have always been 10.

Yep, that's what it means. We are now implementing this rule in both the Nor-Cal and North Bay comps. I agree with you that it is a tough rule. But based on the clock continuing to run during and on course repair, it only seams fair. This way if it's something simple like popping something back on you only lose a few seconds. And if it takes longer than a minute, do it off course and only lose a minute. So I guess I just talked myself into completely agreeing with this rule.

What you part of the NBRCC commity now:shock::?::?:
