Default semi rigid frame

Hi!

I builded a shafty with a semi rigid frame.
the front axle is mounted with fix links.
I have fixed gearbox and motor inside the frame
transmission shaft is a solid axle screwed between axle and gearbox.
I can unmount front axle without get out gearbox of the frame

When i look at the rules, for me, this is a MOB.
Is it ok to pass technical control in crawler comp?

Thank you

for me, these 2 pictures give answer, but when I present it at technical control, it's not time to discuss

So, if I get a RCC validation and i keep a copy with me, nobody could contest and it will make it easier for me in comp

Hi,

It's not a problem of shaft. The transmission must be articulated compared to the front and rear axle. For exemple, take a legal shafty with 4 shocks, and you remplace the 2 front shocks by 2 rigide link. The trany are now not articulated any more compared the front axle and the shafty are now illegal

Cool stuff but thats clearly an MOA. Your motor and Trans are mounted to the axle.

So, semi rigid frame is illegal.

Its not the frame thats illegal... your trans and motor are rigidly mounted to your axle.

ok, so I need to add plates to fix frame directly on axle, and get out links fixed on trans and it will be legal.
I could keep this shaft to link axle on trans?
I have done well to ask the question then.
It's just a little bit complicated for a french pebble pounder

Looks like trans and motor will still be attached to the axle. Reminds me of the moa conversion for the losi axles.

Without changing what you currently have here this could easily compete in the 2.2 mod/pro class.

I already have a pro, with a similar frame . I know i can do that with a MOA.
So it's impossible to build a semi rigid frame shafty if there isn't solution to link frame and axle.
So it's illegal.
It's sad to be restricted like that.
We end up having the same crawler everywhere

Depending upon who you talk to thats the point of the shafty class. Not my cup of tea personally. If you dont want any restrictions thats where unlimited class comes in....

IMO not legal because trans is bolted to front axle. looks like you could remove 4 screws and trans and motor will stay "directly coupled" to front axle. (post 4 pic #1) very creative and great build, hopeful we will have a board in place soon to make a decision, for now I'd ask your local club you crawl with, or run in unlimited class.
just my 2cents
