Are the drive gears welded now in the yellow boxed x-crawlers or are they still two piece pressed? Has anyone had problems with a yellow boxed x that had bad gears? ![]() |

They are still pressed. The crush on the small gear has been increased. John82601 is running a set of the new gears as is, and I am going to weld mine. We will post updates.

Take it apart and look before you get too far. I have the yellow box and they seperated quickly.

I'm running 55t's on 2s and have two 3900mah batt's through it with no gear problems so far. Only mod we've done is add 14oz of lead to each front tire. My son has done most of the driving with it and he's not exactly smooth with the throttle. Will they fail? Probably. When they do I'll warranty them and weld the next set. I just wanted to see how long the "improved" gears would hold up. So far, so good. |
