Default Maxx Sliders

I just picked up everything I need for the maxx sliders convertion. I was gonna do a write-up with pics. I wanted some opinions before I start.

It seems that to get the output yokes to fit onto our trannie shaft, you have to grind one side down flat to match the other, then drill a hole in the side for the screw. If anyone has any other meathod, please let me know.

The pinion shaft is larger than the output yokes. I'm wondering how you all went about this. Did you grind down the pinion shaft, or drill out the output yoke. Then of course a hole will have to be drilled in it.

Don't get me wrong I can figure this out, I just want to hear how others have gone about it. Other than modifying the trannie shaft and pinion shaft it seems to be pretty strait forward.

Thanks in advance

On my truck I took pinions from the Savage which is all ready drilled and ground down where the teeth hit the diff cup. After that all you need to do is drill out the output yokes to match the pinion shaft.

Got the trannie shaft done. Very easy. A drill press is a wonderful tool. Hardend steel nothing. Hopefull the pinions will be the same

Use the TMAXX hub and disk. It mounts right on the tranny diff yokes.

This is OUTLAW's list:

Brake Calipers
Brake Rotor
Brake Adapter
Transmission Yoke
Slider Shafts

The problem is that the traxxus brake disk is too large, it hits the bottom of the brake lever mounting screw. So I have two options as i see it:
One cut down the traxxus brake pad so it dosen't hit the screw, or grind out the inside of the stock x-factor brake disk so it will mount on the adapter hex.

As of now I'm putting it together without the brakes, to get all the suspention geometry right, also debating if I want to run Savage shocks or XTM shocks.

I also have two different set ups on the pinion shaft, and I want to see which one will work better.
This is quite a project, but I'm enjoying doing it, way more fun than a bolt-on kit.

i had bill at rcalloys simply turn down the pinions on the x-factor axles to emaxx dimensions to fit stock maxx yokes.

it wasnt too expensive, but he says they were fairly tough to do.
