The easiest way to lock a xf axle would be to flip the two gears upside down inside the diff, and it will lock itself. Or fill it full of jbweld.

I've also heard that the upside-down gears mod in the diffs is the fastest way to destroy them. Cannot survive the shock torque. Clean and degrease all gears then JBweld them. You can even put the upside down gears then, 'cause all the strenght will come from the glue. If you have a lathe, turning a spool would be great, and you could save the diffs as spare parts or sell them. (actually you could sell the spools too, as nobody else make them!) ![]() |

They refer to this product as a "locker," but from what I can see of it, it looks like a spool to me.

Nice try but that is for a Twin/Mad Force.... not a X-Factor ![]() ![]() Best way to lock the X-Factor diffs is to fully clean them, fill them full of JB-Weld, let it set up overnight. It's the best way to lock them up, trust me. I had about 4-5 diffs that had issues until I just JB'ed them. All those "cheap tricks" were just that, cheap. They wouldn't last more 1 run. I had a big X-Factor too.....back in the days when you had to build a big truck ![]() ![]() Last edited by toyofast; 03-05-2006 at 10:23 PM.
