Default Lower gearing on x factor???

Hey, Well, I just bought a used x factor and I am really anxious to get it. Anyways while I am waiting I want to figure out a few things. Can someone link me to some good transmission gears that would work with hills and rock crawling or are the stock gears good enough for that??? I obiously would think that I need some low gearing. Ok, well I dont know much about the crawling scene yet.... but I have been into nitro rc for quite a while (6 cars/trucks in the past) so can someone please help me out. Thanks a lot!!!

i have found that the easiest way ro lower the gearing on an x factor is to put on a savage 52 tooht spur gear, the stock one is 48 teeth. it lowers you gearing to almost the exact ratio you want for crawlong. its the set up i use on my x-f crawler and it works great.

If you can find a 12 tooth clutch bell, it will work quite nice with the 52 spur. I have heard of alot of people using this set up and they say it will climb a tree. If not the 13 from XTM will do. Some more food for thought, go here for some killer clutch shoes and spools to lock your diffs. If you dont want to spend $ to lock then buy some JB weld or silly putty.

If the truck has stock tires then get the axle swap from a Savage or XTM and buy some Associated MGT tires (they work great).

Have fun, crawling is awesome!

Hey, thanks that is a big help, I actually already saw that site and plan on ordering two spools (front and rear) for my x factor.
