Default serious steering for x-axles

check it out:

custom servo mounts and steering linkage by dev2k, hobbico cs-80 servos. i designed the steering mounts to be able to work either in front or behind the axle and be able to adjust the mounting depth as well. with servo tape applied to both sides of the servo before you clamp the top section down it aint going anywhere. the 3/8" links clear the steering links at all flexies but it gets pretty tight at full flex.

i plugged one into my other clods reciever and worked the steering with the truck on the rug, and oh my... its massively more powerfull than the fma s355m servos i was comparing it to, and thats just off the super roosters b.e.c. the x-factor axles deeper offset wheel design is much more servo friendly too, so its pretty efficient and turns real nice.

i thought it up and dev2k from rcmt and now clodtalk made at all.

the top link mount i'm gonna have tapped so i can move it front to back for different upper link placements and have them maybe cleaned up and trimmed down, but i kinda like it all squared off.

they work extremely well, you have to chop off the stock upper link mount and use no servo saver so i cant say how long it will last before i have to replace some gears or the servo itself. they feel pretty solid and i figure as cheap as the hobbico servos are to always have a couple spares anyway. i dont know if all 1/4 scale servos are like the hobbicos, but the cs-80 has a bigger output and bigger splines to where a kimborogh-style servo saver wont fit.

Those are the same servos I'm using in my new Maxx project.
