After getting an X and shortly thereafter realizing the futility of trying to crawl with a 30+ mph shafty, I put the truck on the shelf. Now, a year later, I have ordered: 14.4 dewalt drill motor 5mm bore pinions * Novak XR speed control custom batteries from Maxamps * Hitec 645 servo for rear steering Airtronics VG6000 6 channel fm * (* indicates ordered but not recieved yet) My X-Factor already had carbon fiber 4-links, 8 shock setup (but it doesn't over-articulate, i.e. less than 90 deg. of articulation), and most of the aluminum hop-ups. I wanted to retain the servo actuated brake (kind of like a line lock), and servo shifted reverse. About all that is left is to install the rx and batteries. I will also be lengthening the wheelbase as soon as I figure out a way to stretch the stock driveshaft (I want it to look stock) No emaxx tranny, no GD600, just a drill motor and 16.8v (they say these motors don't mind being overvolted a little). In just a couple more days I'll get to see how it works ![]() |
