It looks very good, always nice to see more X-Factors. Are your wheels stock or narrowed? Also how do you like the Rubicon body?

Thanks NeoSlayer888, I worked very hard to get it restored to it's current condition since I bought it used. Those are indeed narrowed wheels. I took the outer rings off both sides, sanded it, and painted the beadlocks on with some markers. Still gotta cut the tires but they grip pretty good as is. I narrowed the foams inside too. That rubicon body is awesome! It fits the X-factor perfectly. I like the molded winch on the front but I can see the stickers eventually peeling off. Wish they made it somehow to where you can remove it.

here's the lengths of the steering arms I made. long: 9 11/16 inches short: 4 9/32 inches it's not hard to figure the lengths out. just take a measuring tape and measure across from one steering knuckle to the other for the long rod. you can do this without even having to remove anything. remember to measure between the ball ends though for the short rod I had to: -make the servo mount first -mount the servo with the kimbrough servo saver -mount the ball ends -center the servo -measure the distance between the ball ends And even if the lengths don't come out perfectly you can just add washers to adjust toe in on the long rod. You can adjust the steering throw using the trim on your radio then add washers as needed. I'll have some more pics later today

Hey CMAN, This is the first time I've seen your truck. Very nice indeed. I wish you'd sent me some pics... :( Those decals I told you about are shipping out this coming Monday. How are the Lockers holding up? I think you'll like the new vinyl dude. I have more on the way. A totally new look. I'll send some of those as well when I get them. Regards, Tim

Bigblocked: sorry man...didn't know ya wanted em! I posted pics of on the x forum too. Most of the pics i have of my truck gas and electric are online in some way. Here's some links to photo galleries as it is now....electric. http://imageevent.com/torquer/meet1 http://imageevent.com/torquer/meet2?n=0 Can't wait for the decals man! Thx alot! I'll put em on the new body when I get it done....gonna try to do something a little cooler this time. http://imageevent.com/torquer/meet1 http://imageevent.com/torquer/meet2?n=0 vo-techer: This is what got me started on the rock crawling scene! At the time I was considering a Maxx type basher but I wanted something differrent. When I saw this truck I fell in love! Got into rock crawling with this and tried to see how far it could go then I heard about ppl converting to electric and I found this site. electric works much better than nitro!

that picture of the clutch gave me an idea, has anyone tried to make a nitro truck with a manual clutch?Ive been pondering diffrent ways to do this. 1 set up a standard cuutch set up with pressure plates and the works, or 2set up a differential with a brake disk fixed to the housing, attach one output to the motor so when the servo applies the diff brake, power is transfered to the spider gears and out the oposite output. with the clutch disengaged it would release the brake allowing the diff housing to spin freely. id imagine it would give much better control and be alot of fun to drive

sambmx: If you can come up with something let me know! PLEASE!!! I suppose you could flip the rear universal around and mount a brake disc on the rear diff's pinion output. And instead of running rear steering mount a servo on top of the axle and rig it somehow to clamp some brake dics together then that might work. RocJoc: I used an emaxx tranny when I went electric

Sam are you trying to build a different tranny? I have an idea. Reverse the chassis so the engine is in front. Then move the engine farther forward about an 1 1/2". Create a gear reduction to make up the space in between the cb and spur. You may have to build a custom chassis to make this work. Another problem is the exhaust will have to run along the side of the chassis. Get rid of the cantilever suspension and mount a single shock at each end. Mount em so they're on the links to allow greater articulation. I'm sure I'm forgetting alot of other things tho..... Whadya think?
