Forgive the noobieness here, never fooled with a X-factor. Do the stock shafts telescope any? If the do,how much? Are there any options to get more travel out of them? I'm thinking of using these on my project, will they work for a decent amount of travel or do I need to try maybe the Maxx sliders? Thanks

The stock X-Factor driveshafts are quite solid, although I wouldn't use them for crawling. They are very limited on slip... 1/2". They have different size ends too, axle mounting holes are larger than tranny side. They are built like a CVD kinda. Personally I was going to try to use them but decided against it after playing with them. I can sell you my X-Factor driveshafts and you can see for yourself I guess. Go Maxx 2.5's or wait to get some of the ones off the new Revo. The ones off the Revo look quite larger and can probably handle more abuse.

Thanks guys,so the maxx slider is the best economical way to achive a telescoping shaft? I've seen a few pics of metal shafts that telescope and would rather go that route. The guy that runs the LHS close to me swears the maxx sliders are VERY stout and I'd be hard pressed to break one. He claims in all his adventures,he's never seen one break. Maybe I'll try them in my project and hope for the best. There's something inside me though thats telling me it's BAAAAAAD to use plastic instead of steel for drivetrain parts. I'd never go for it with my 1:1 Toyota Thanks Steve

They can break, at least the weaker older Maxx ones go snap easy. The 2.5 Maxx sliders tend to hold up really well. I'd put a limit on the life span though... 10-12 hardcore runs. Most the 2.5 Maxx sliders will twist, I've only broke the ears off the yokes so far but twisting can happen with to much torque..... ![]() I'm waiting for the Revo sliders, bigger and have more splines. Should be the ones to have. | |

I run extended length slider shafts on my Xfactor axled truck, with Kongs, two mag mayhems and very low gearing and very, very rarely do I break one. They just plain work!
