reverse help does anyone know how to mod an x-f tranny so that the servo based reverse can be bypassed for use with an electric motor |
You'll need a ESC to power the thing correct? The reverse is in the ESC "thumbsup" I'd strongly recommend the Mamba Max and a Castle BEC IMHO,it's the best set up period! Combine that with a couple 200-400 oz. servo's and your golden. Here's a few options for servo's.....Servos One I run with great results is a Airtronics 359. |
i know that there is reverse on the esc but on the x-f tranny it has a servo based reverse with a one way bearing in it if you just reverse the motor through the esc it wont move |

I've never fooled with a X tranny. Could you post a picture of it? I'd guess you could remove the one way and install a Revo shaft,if the one way is on the output shaft. Thats how Twin Forces one way is set up. I've heard of guys gluing them up. Not sure how that holds up. Is there a way to make a realllllly short shaft out of Revo shafts and put it in place of the one way? I don't know, just throwing out ideas. If I had a picture,I could probably help more. As far as I know, there's not many guys running X trannies in crawlers. Most upgrade to a Maxx or Twin Force tranny. |
Hey, there is a shift lever on the back side of the tranny, just pin it to the tranny, that should keep it in forward. I have pictures somewhere that show this, but I am at work right now. I will try to post them up later. |
