Before I begin my review, let me begin by explaining why I feel that I can give an honest review of the rig, even though it’s still unavailable to the public.

Firstly, I had the honor of attending the Montana Scale Nationals this past weekend, where PinchFlat and I judged courses for both Street class and Spec. Being that we were the first to offer our help with Spec, we requested to judge the Wraith course, and couldn’t have been happier when we were told that we would in fact be the judges for that course. Team Axial driver Ryan Gerrish attended the Int’l Auto Show in Portland, Oregon this past weekend. Ryan and fellow northwest crawler Brett Carlson set-up a small Axial booth at the show to demo some SCX10 TR’s, and allow fellow show attendees to take the wheel of an SCX10. A photo was taken at a 1:1 event (KOH) of Axial’s newest scale crawler and shortly after the new spread like wild fire on forums around the world. The new crawler appears to be a scale replica of a 1:1 crawler with a plastic molded cage and a full scale interior, new wider axles. It is rumored that it will be available in May 2011 and have price of $350 to $400 RTR.

We are two events into the 2010-2011 USRCCA Championship series, and both events have been action packed to say the least.  The first event, Crawlapalooza ran it’s for it’s 4th year of being part of the USCRRA series and was held once again in beautiful Disney, OK.  A relative newcomer from Colorado, Josh Hicks (Hoppa)  took home the honors in the 2.2 class while Paul Waldrep (rock hard) from the Crawler Mafia cleaned house in the 1.9 class.  Ty Thompson (tctz28) from Lincoln, NE put on a driving clinic with his super and took home the gold in that class.

Axial has released a great upgrade for the stock AX10/SCX10 transmission – Steel Outdrives! These replace the stock aluminum outdrives to provide a bullet-proof output for the transmission. These are direct replacements, and simply bolt right in to your AX10 or SCX10 transmission (dis-assembly required)
