Thundertech Racing's CVD Clodbuster axles.

In competitive rockcrawling people use every advantage they can find to make themselves finish above everyone else. As we make the obstacles bigger and bigger we have to make our rigs more capable, and stronger to handle the punishment we hand them. After all if you are broken, you can never win! With these CVD axles from Thundertech I believe broken clod shafts are a thing of the past, the added steering you'll gain is just more the reason to add these to your bag of tricks.

Laying side by side with a stock clod axle you can tell right away these axles are strong. Notice the extra turning. These axles will also widen your rig by 1/4" per side or 1/2" overall.

Here you can see that a stock clod stub axle measures ~6mm.

Thundertech brings the beef with these, a 33% increase in size. That's almost like taking your 1:1 rig from a 29 spline shaft to a 40 spline!

Look at all the parts that come with one (1) set of CVD's. The wheels will now be held on by a bolt instead of a nut. There is an aluminum 12mm nut for mounting the stock clod wheel adapter, or you can run your favorite brand of adapters, and wheels. As shown above the outer axle is 33% larger than stock and therefore requires special bearing to be installed, which come with the axles. The inner axle retains the same size as the original inner, and you get new nuts to go into the sides of your diff to fit the hex inner axles.

With the axles installed you can see the large bell on the CVD fills up all possible room in the stock clod knuckle. You can also see here some of the grinding I had to do to gain the full advantage of the added steering.
Check out the added turning ability. Yes the steering arm is touching the axle tube! This will no doubt be a great advantage when trying to maneuver your rig through the tightest of courses.

I have ran these shafts in my rig for one comp and a ton of bashing. I pulled them out the other day to check how they were doing, and they are just as nice as the day I put them in!

Thanks to Thundertech for developing products like these so we can keep making the obstacles bigger and bigger!
