HBZ USA releases Warthog 2.2 Tube Chassis
Reviewed by John Badger, text by HBZ, pictures by RCCrawler and HBZ

I received a pre-production Warthog chassis just before RCX (April '08) and my first impression was wow, this chassis is a work of art! It took me 30 minutes to remove the stock AX10 chassis plates and bolt on the carbon fiber HBZ side plates to the stock AX10 skid plate, then bolt on the HBZ warthog chassis to the carbon side plates. Next I added the lexan body panels that were custom designed by Jason at HBZ.

Now that I have had the HBZ Warthog chassis as my only comp rig for a few months, I become more attached to the rig every time I pull it off the shelf to crawl or compete with it. The looks are stunning from the very first glance to now after the rig has been beaten hard in a couple comps and even taking several big falls, the chassis makes me say, "damn, that is a good looking rig!" To best describe the chassis, I would say it's a cross between a UFC fighter and Pam Anderson, extremely tough while having dead sexy good looks.

With the chassis being only 4" tall (including side plates and measured from bottom of skid to roof) and an overall height of just over 6", the Warthog can clear very tight and narrow obstacles without getting hung up. The chassis is also extremely light at only 6.5 ounces, this keeps the weight down low if you mount your battery and ESC on the axles giving you a nice low competition level COG.
